Traded in my IS 300 for a Dark Silver MCS (Leather/Premium/Sport/Nav). It was a 2002 demo car with just over 4000 miles on it. I paid 26000.

I love this thing, I gotta soak up the owner manual and fine tune my stick driving technique!

Wow, by the 12th post on minicooperonline.com, I owned the car.

Congratulations, but I have a few quibbles.....

According to MINIUSA, the standard warranty is 4year/50k, 6year/unlimited mile rust perforation, and the complimentary maintenance 3year/36k.

The most your can possibly get your Factory MSRP on an MCS is $27,015, what else besides, well, everything from the factory, does your MCS have on it to justify a $26k price w/4k miles?! (aero kit, R90's, fitted luggage, twelve layers of floormats?)

Cheers, and definitely Motor-On,
Ryan

I meant the complementary maintenance was upped to 50k miles.

As to the price, I know I overpaid a little. I wanted the car now, and was willing to overpay a little for it.

I got them to get rid of their dealer markup while still giving me LoJack and a 6CD Changer. Yeah I know ... still a little $$, but I have it now and not in 90 days

tru, my wait is about 4 months, and yours was about 4 minutes! I can appreciate that being worth some extra cash! The complimentary maintence extension is worth about $500, fyi.

enjoy lots of Motoring
Cheers,
Ryan

thank you, I think I'll be known on this board as "the guy who overpaid for his mini"

truth is, i wanted to get rid of my Lexus so bad. It had some frame defect, that would make it creak loudly whenever i turned etc. Lexus customer service was excellent though, but they couldn't fix the problem yet.. It was in the shop for two months, thought they got it, but no. It was about to go to the shop again, but I just didn't wanna deal with it. All warranty covered, but the most they coulda done for me is an even trade on another used 2001 Is 300, didn't want that, buh bye

you know the feeling when you look at your car and it pisses you off? that's how I felt about the lexus, I didn't love it anymore. i LOVE my MINI

If you beg and ask nicely, COOPERation might make you something. He posted in this thread, just a few posts up. Click on his name and send him a personal message. You'll then need to host the picture somewhere in order to display it in your sig.

The standard warranty for Mini USA is 4 years? I only got 2 years on my car in Mexico... I though BMW had a policy of making your warrany valid wolrdwide, so it makes no sense that they offer different terms depending on the country.

I wish I had 4 years...

Congrats
In fact, you inspired me to go out and get one myself . Put down my $1000 deposit on a British Racing Green MCS today. Now all I have to do is wait :???: , July at the latest.
Motor on

Congrats on the car. Not to worry, you are not the only one on these boards who overpaid to get their car now.

Enjoy and go Motor.

Sambusik, I too bought a demo. It turns out it was the first Cooper "S" to roll off the truck in Orlando. I was already on the waiting list but I didn't want to wait. It had 2700 miles on it and they extended the warranty by 5000 miles. It was loaded except for Nav. I've only had 2 small problems, coolant tank leak, fixed with the newer style.never did have the brown coolant, and a cold start problem, also fixed. It has no sqeaks, rattles or sunroof problems, no deck latch problems, and it didn't have one scratch when I bought it. Still doesn't. After reading all about other peoples problems, I feel like I got a great car and I paid MSRP. No markups or add ons. I was a little worried at first, but after 14,000 miles, I'm pretty sure it is a very sound car. It had more than I would have ordered but I'm enjoying all the extras. I hope you're just as lucky. Motor on
Mike Brinson

Congratulations! If you enjoy the car (and I bet you will), you will soon forget what you paid. Instant gratification can be fun,

hey mike,
I spent about a half hour carefully looking over the car to check for scratches etc.. It's in perfect shape! I wanted to see what i could find before I made the plunge and ordered one .. Then I'd have to join the can't wait for May club! haha.. Instant gratification. Can't wait to get off work in a couple of hours and drive it back home!

Hopefully this car will be problem free.. *fingers crossed*!!
