im leaning towards the diy method but im afraid of not being able to do it correctly. also its relatively cold outside so if i did it myself it might not work right...
is it easy to apply the stripes? i honestly dont think its worth it to pay $250.. esp if they do a crappy job..
any thoughts? have those who've done it themselves found it easy enough to match up the two stripes?
i could just buy the stripes from mini mania right now for $59 and do it myself... does it come with instructions on how to place the stripes?

Custom stripes from a local sign shop cost me $30 for materials and $45 for them to install them. I would strongly recommend that route.

What about window tinters? It seems like the materials are sort of similar?

yeah, since they are just a couple bucks in adhesive vinyl, i would not pay $250 for them. sign shop is the way to go, definitely!

Although, my opinion is lessened by the fact that the first thing I did when I got home from the dealer is peel off the offending bonnet stripes that broke up the beautiful curves of the bonnet. But that is just my opinion. . .

If you go through a sign shop just double check the quality of material they use. Some of the stuff out there is paper thin and will only last a month or two and won't hold up to the elements very well. Avery or 3M or the two best types out there as far as material is concerned. I use a 3M Controltac which has a silver backing - something about the material they use works well with their adhesive and the cars paint.

As far as installation goes I have an install sheet I can send you which can be adapted to any set of bonnet stripes. The install should take no more than about an hour of your time. A sign shop "should" not charge more than about $50.00 for a complete installation.

Stripes should be installed when the CAR temp is above 60 degrees. Any less than this and it is hard to work with the adhesive material and you are more likely to mess things up.

Hope this helps
