About to order my mini

Hi, I'm about to order a mini and i was wondering if you all could assist me? I'm about to place my order for a Cooper with The checkmate, Premium, and Cold Weather Convience packages as well as the xenons and the navigation system. The MSRP is $25,000. Are minis still going for full sticker? The dealership also has a $400 processing fee. Is there anything else i should fully look over before deciding on the Mini? Thanks for any help!

Hi,

I'm in the Boston area. Here they're going for sticker. the dealers have nearly $200 of processing fee/document fee whatever (each one calls it a different thing , but the ones i talked to all had it. One of them *may* have had both but i never got far enough with them to find out).

Some people had mentioned that in some *rare* cases you can pay less - like if you find a car at the dealer that someone had ordered and paid a sizeable downpayment , then walked away. In that case, the dealer might be willing to take a down a bit (since some other person already paid for some of the price thru the downpayment).

chances that you'll find this rare situ for a car that you do like are kinda *slim*, but someone posted that it happened with them. In Boston , the downpayment is $500 so you wouldn't save much here anyway even if you found something.

In California, it looks like people are paying a couple of grand *over* sticker.

I think that's it, then taxes and registration etc ..

hope that was helpful !

Paying full sticker is the norm. In addition to the processing fee they might hit you up for dealer prep. Mine did but I was able to negotiate it down by a couple of hundred.

If you want any dealer accessories like mats, cargo net, etc, now is the time to get them. They might throw you a bone with a freebie or at least maybe you can get them at cost.

Even in Cali I didn't pay any processing or other mark-up fees, just MSRP and sales tax (and got free mats to boot). Its worth discussing what you want and calling around to see what your other options are. If you find other places near or far that will do better you can bring it to the first dealer and use it as a bargaining tool to see if they will change. If they don't you can always take your biz elsewhere and get the best deal for yourself even if it means a bit of a drive back

And always get everything in writing and a signed copy of the contrac with all of the specs, prices and out the door price.

Cheers!

i was able to knock down mine because it came with dealer installed options
like the aero kit, but if not, i would have just paid MSRP.

$25K for a MC. it's going to be a nice car.

They still are going at MSRP or MSRP +....

Wonder what this processing fee is all about? At Westchester Mini, White Plains, all we paid was $45 for the registration. Am I missing something????
