I've had an '06 JCW MCS for about 6 weeks and 1500 miles. Have had no problems whatsoever.

I'd spec it as he would a normal MCS.

No problems with my '04.... I stayed with the performance parts and skipped all the cosmetic stuff.

Take a look at this:

Get it

I've got an '04 JCW and I love it. Get the Standard package (air intake, exhaust, header, etc...) first, brakes second, suspension third and flashy stuff after that. I think the JCW kit gives you a great piece of mind in terms of warranty and the heritage of it makes it nice to have. There are cheaper ways to get the power but that a topic for another thread. I've had no problems what so ever with my kit, go for it.

I got it from http://www.headrestembroidery.com/ it's a really easy. I was the guinea pig for the headrests and everything went through without a hitch.

I can't remember exactly how much but once the design was paid for it was around 70-80 bucks per headrest. They came out REALLY nice, the stiching was tight and well proportioned for the headrest.

You can see the MINI2 thread I had when I originally wanted to do it back in the fall.

LOVE THE HEADREST. Love it so much that when Angelina (my MINI) finally arrives I am getting it done right away.

See below for the way we specked out our MCS JCW. Cant wait, we are expected to take delivery at the end of the month.

I currently have a 05 with a factory installed JCW...its a blast to drive but....I do have an issue with the EML light that activates randomly. It doesn't affect the vehicle, though. I took it to a MINI dealer and they said that they couldn't find anything wrong with my MINI. They reset it but soon afterwards the same glitch started to show. I would have to restart the vehicle for the EML indicator lamp to turn off.

About 4600 on Rex and that's only because I don't have more spare time to DRIVE!

In terms of specs it depends on what you are looking for out of your car. In Canada we NEEDED the heated seats and they are SO nice to snuggle into. We opted for the panther black/red octagon interior and it's nice but I've also seen the checkmate edition with the blue/silver and it is HOT!!! Have you considered the checkmate package? The color scheme with the blue is beautiful and everything is in a very pretty package.

We decided against the HK stereo since we aren't music nuts and the factory one is pretty good. We also decided against the "premium" package since we auto-x the car and didn't want to add the extra weight up high.

Good luck and you will LOVE the car!

I agree, the headrest looks great.

I have an 05 MCS/JCW (engine kit only, so far) and I love it. Make sure to look over the options carefully. I loaded mine up, and once a buddy rode in mine in the dead of winter, she had to have the heated seats. It wound up costing quite a bit to change it over and that's with me doing the work and the parts coming off eBay!

If you're on a budget, these are my minimum specs...
Cold Weather Pkg
Xenon Headlights
Front and Rear Foglights (gaps in the switch panel look horrible)
Limited Slip Differential
Convenience Package (the wipers and mirror are awesome, the rest ain't much)

I share an 06 JCW MCS with JCWGurl and if I was doing it all over again, I would get the Checkmate pkg with JCW as well. Also, the Sport Chrono dash is a must have as well as the anthracite roofliner.
