What's the most you have put in your MINI?
People always look stunned when they see how much room there is in a MINI...
|
Where did the 5th person sit?
We often carry 2 Saint Bernards around with plenty of room to spare? |
I haul firewood in mine:nod::razz:
Oh and the Lab:wink: Mark  |
I have far from maxed out my MINI's hauling capacity, but I did have 5 people in it once for one of my son's dances. Three in the back seat. It was cozy, but the kids didn't seem to mind (two girls and a guy:wink:) Crazy kids!!!

Everything I own, all my clothes, TV, computer camea gear, bedding, books, room decorations, tools and spare quart of oil. It all fit in the back seat, leaving plenty of room up front for driver and co-pilot, and it all fit tbelow the window line, and I still managed 28 mpg (calculated not OBC).

I dont think that this is the MOST full I've had a MINI... but it SURE felt that way! two girls, a dog, suitcases (for all) and misc small stuff for moving. all for 2 LONG days! (CA-TX)
|
Moving from Off Topic to MINI Talk.
|
I once got 4 girls to fit in the back seat and these were college aged girls.... to this day dont know how they did it.(this was a very quick journey) I fit two full Costco carts of food in the back, with it hitting the roof.
|
I carried a "Hover-round" type wheelchair in mine once with a passenger. Rear seats were folded and boot mat extension was in place. I had to pretty much disassemble the chair. It was a full load.

We moved across country - towed the MINI behind our Durango - completely FULL from front to back with...well...you name it, it was in there. We could barely shut the doors it was so full..LOL!!!

here you find the photos.... http://lnx.clubminitalia.com/index.php?showtopic=3396 Well, I take a 6-8 week roadtrip in my MINI every spring...meaning I basically live out of her. I pack her like a puzzle.....I love doing that! I get clothes, food, shoes, art supplies, gifts, computer stuff, blankets, pillows....I'll see if I can find a piccie to post! |
An entire wedding reception for 100 excluding the fake ficus trees. They wen't in the truck. Table cloths, table centerpieces, flowers, food, lights, servings dishes, utensils, etc.
It turned out great as the cake lady delivered this time. It avoided this earlier episode: http://static.flickr.com/29/61913717_7cbc2d9895_m.jpg This was when I thought I could transport my daughters cake in the wee hours of the night after the reception a couple of years ago. I was actually about 20 minutes from home after a two hour drive!:eek2::eek2::eek2: |
I got a good list from going to AutoX's:
1. 8 wheels and tires, yes 8 it can be done 2. Jack and tire changing tools including impact 3. Bag of all hand tools 4. Clothes for 2 for weekend 5. Cooler 6. Jack stands 7. 2 helmets 8. Air tank 9. Of course 2 people I think that was it. |
Just a couple weekends ago I folded down the back seats and put 4 teenager boys in the back with me and my roommate up front. Teach those parents that wouldn't let me borrow their mini vans.
|
Fifth person..
...all three of them got in the back seat! I asked if they were okay, they were surprised they had room, so off we went. Mick
|
I am still amazed that MrsDiff and my self can fit a kid seat and a booster seat back there with KidDiff1 and KidDiff2 and still be comfortable enough to drive MIB! Yes it is a little tight....
|
4 grown men. 230lbs, 200lbs, 190 lbs, and 185 lbs, and about 50lbs of stuff in the boot.
It didn't feel like I was driving an S anymore. |
19 16x14x8 boxes in a Convertible (with the roof up). It was a little like playing Tetris.
|
Two full sets of 16" wheels, one with tires mounted!
|
I've put about 3,392 pounds into my Cooper S, with more to come I just know it.
(that's about USD6000!) Sorry, I just kept reading the thread title, and couldn't resist the play on words...back to regular transmission. |
I imagine this is why we've kept my wife's Explo-dition. The most I've had in my car is two children, maybe 140 lbs between them. The boot has held nothing but an emergency set of tools and a flashlight.
|
...see?
...the whole idea of starting this thread was to demonstrate you CAN put 5 pounds of (whatever) into a "two pound bag"...it just depends on how you stack it! Mick

In the grand British tradition set by Dr Who, I always think of my MINI as a Tardis--the Doctor's space ship that appeared as a red telephone box externally, but was wonderously cavernous on the inside. The Tardis was a marvel of space-time engineering, which I suppose is what the MINI is also!
