R50/53 Psychological make-up of a MC owner

The MINI is unique. When I started thinking about replacing my F*rd Exploder, there was no other car I considered, because there is no other car as sharp looking and fun. When I started considering the MINI and talking to people about it, everyone was excited. I'm surprised more people don't drive them because everyone seems to be interested in MINIs, but I guess not everyone is ready to give up their urban assault vehicle for it. We are the brave many MINI owners.
In terms of psychological make up, I know a lot of MINI drivers who are gay, both male and female. The density of homosexual owners seems much higher than any other current car that I know of. So when people call my car "gay" - I really can't argue.
I have always enjoyed being different...I never liked being made to fit into the same mold as everyone else... I do not march to everyone else's drummer. :impatient
I think a MINI says a lot about the owner...in a nutshell: we don't want to be like everyone else.
When my friends see a purple MINI with a red roof buzzing around town, they know it's me
. When I see a silver Toyota Tacoma pick up truck muscling it's way through traffic, I have to get closer to see if it is my husband or someone else. His truck looks almost like every other silver truck in town, Toyota or otherwise....
Call it being non-conformist, call it being rebelloious, call it being an outsider, call it "attention getting behavior", call it adventuresome, call it whatever you want...as long as I have the freedom to be me: an individual.

Psychological Make-Up
Well, doctor... (This couch here? OK.) I don't actually wear make-up... psychological or other-wise... I suppose I hated my mother... at one time or another... Although she had a small car, a black, two-door Falcon... which I liked a lot...
I'm not gay, almost 50, have three kids, about to remarry, and have a '06 mini cooper convertible. It was the closest thing I could find to a motorcycle that had four wheels. I was feeling luck was running out on the bikes (no wrecks in last 2+ years) and my fiance really wanted me to get a car.

(long silence on the phone)
"Dad.... don't be the old guy in the gay car!"
I knew then that I HAD to have this car.
Payback time came in December when I got the car and took my daughter (now back home in Alaska) for a ride.
"Ok, Dad... I have to admit... it's pretty cool"
