R50/53 Just got my S

Hi all,
Just thought I would let everyone know that I just got my DS/B mini cooper S, and let you know what I think:
1) Is it worth the wait - YES. I have been driving a cooper for the last month, which was very nice. But the S looks so much better. I real head turner.
2) LeatherSeats - YES. They are so much nicer than the leatherette in the cooper. And are a very high grade of soft, soft leather.
3) 17" Wheels. They look the bomb. It makes the car look smaller than the cooper, even though it is actually a foot or so large. They really make the car look sporty and the ride seems no more harsh then the cooper.
4) Exhaust - what a lovely note the exhausts make. Can't wait until I can red-line her.
5) Power - Plenty of it, but obviously with the run-in restrictions this hasn't been fully tested.
6) Overall - A great car!

Welcome to the "S" club. The only down side I've found is the every other day washing ritual because of the #*^% brake dust. You'll find that exhaust note really sings at full throttle and a beautiful song at that. MB

Try waxing your wheels, then just dust them daily with an old soft cloth and the brake dust comes right off. Makes the whole car look clean and cuts down on the number of summer washes ! :smile:

HK upgrade? Where have you been? It's on my order sheet but rumor has it - MANY RUMORS have it delayed until December or possibly even later. You can prob cross that one off your list...

My delivery date is in Oct/Nov but I have an early Aug build date, so maybe it'll be even sooner!!! That would be awesome. I can't wait!!! Congrats on all those that have yours...the twin-tailpipe does make quite a lovely sound...I can't wait!!!

Congrats! I can't wait untill I get my 'S' either. I will be driving up to Chicago from Kansas City on 7-26. I didn't get leather though(got a dealer speced car) so I hope the leatherette isn't that much worse than the leather. I will be getting a Red/White S with all 3 packages including white bonnet stripes for MSRP with floormats and nothing else.
