Almost 3 Years and I Got a "Present"

I picked up Ollie on January 18th, 2003, so we're coming up on our third anniversary. And that thoughtful little bugger gave me a present today:

A broken seat heater.

I turn it on, both lights go on but within 30 seconds one light goes off (such that it appears to be on "low") and the seat never warms. Not one stinking bit.

Bastard car that I love -- it's like he knows I'm never going to trade him, despite numerous threats...

Hahaha, nice.

He's trying to make you go away... And if you stay, it means you love him more than you tell him.

It's BMW's little way to remind you it's a British car! I have had my share of these fun electrical gremlins on my 03 MCS (and my 66 MCS way back).
But I still love it!

Good luck.

regards,
Red

He Loves me! He Really Loves me!

I stayed... and the following day the seat heaters worked brilliantly (knocking on wood)

Might be the relay going "British" on you. I'm not sure where it is on the MINI, but in an E36 it's under the seat and was prone to failure...
