Finally put mine on my 2004 MCS... FAST111 ... although I used a little poetic license to change the ones to explanation points. Also had it colored coded to match my MINI. I had it cut in reverse so it's actually mounted on the inside. Not as prominent as on the outside, but a little stealth. Don't want anyone to get the impression I drive FAST!!!.

Gonna Install Today

I'm " FLY369 ". Wanted 319 for my birthday, but someone's already got it. So I went with 369 for the month & year instead.

I was also wondering about the rear wiper tearing them off. Anyone else have any insights? I was considering the lower right of the window, or splitting them around the wiper center.

Thanks!

-Chris

hrmm... the decal i got from AC didnt like my window. it almost seemed like it didnt have adhesive on some parts of the lettering....

i prepped the window just like i prep for decal on the body, but i didnt use and of my decal solution, i just applied it dry. when i peeled off the outer film, the Q and the K and the 9 came right off in pieces....

We've got WILD142, as in this Cooper is a wild one for two -- my wife and I.

Thanks for the head's up on this! I'll be super careful installing mine from AC and I hope mine doesn't suffer the same fate. Hope your experience was an isolated one. . .

I am FLY847. When I receive it from AC I will put it on the lower right of the boot window.....hopefully out of range of the wiper. - glassdarkly

Decals do not seem to like wax or rain x. My suggestion for those applying any window decals is:

Wash the window really good with alchohol and water mixture. It wouldn't hurt to clay bar that area as well. You want to make sure you remove any wax that might be on the glass.

If you are still having issues with the decal not sticking please contact me.

This sticker is still a great offer on my site if you have not got one yet.

My Motoring ID:
TANK128
Cheers

Splitting it around the wiper could be cool... I stuck mine in the upper left corner, set in ever so slightly from the absolute edge of the window. Used 1" letters instead of 2" -- they were too big.

2nd Look

Well I haven't put them on yet. The weather here in Chicago started to drop again last night and even though "Her Majesty" is in the garage, I still wanted to wait to hear back from people here. I took a look again at the rear window tonight when I got home from work, and now I'm thinking about either upper left (OmToast), or lower right (glassdarkly). We had rain/snow again today so the wipe track was very clear. I'm leaning toward the lower right just because of the amount of time I spend in the passing lanes! Thanks everyone for your input.

Is it just me, or does it seem odd that Mini has come up with this, but didn't take the rear wiper into consideration? Maybe it works in the western US, but here in Chicago, forget it. They'd be gone in about 2 days.

The top center seems to be working fine so far. The letters I got from AC stuck on perfectly. The wiper seems to slide over them with no effect.

I like the look of top center, so far so good. Time will tell.

Mine are on:

MINIUSA mentioned that the ID had to be 2" Helvetica font... but then again I also read that you had to put the ID on your rear window hahahaa.

I am glad to see some people putting their IDs on their MINIs!

Good to know, thanks! I just bought a pack from Office Depot. Maybe what I'll do is see if I have multiple characters and maybe I'll try it in the "official" location, and if the wiper has problems, relocate it to the lower right.

I put mine here:

I was worried about the wiper damaging the letters over time. Besides, my www.mini2.com sticker is up there
Sorry for the dirty boot. It was raining all day today

Has anyone actually used an ID to contact someone yet? Noticed other Mini's displaying IDs?

Funny you mention this, I just got an e-mail from someone and I was chacking to see if they were on the message borads first, the suprising part was I haven't displayed my ID yet

I haven't seen a single MINI with the IDs on them... but then again, I do not see a lot of MINIs where I live.

I do look out for them though...
