Though this may win the stupid question of the week award, I'm going to ask it anyway.

The dealer installed 17" rims on my Mini Cooper with the P. run-flat tires. I noticed the other day that the car still has it's original spare attached underneath. Is there any reason to leave it there? Can you use that spare with the other tires or is it just too small to be safe. Is there that much of a weight savings advantage that I'd notice a difference in performance or fuel economy?

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks-Bob

I'm not sure of the size compatability question, but I would keep the spare. If you get a flat, and can't (or don't want to) get it fixed immediately, the spare would be nice...just in case.
