R50/53 Out of the "Can't Wait For Feb. Club"!!
My PS/B MC (all packages) now resides (under a car cover) in the carport-150 miles from Portland, Oregon delivery Friday morning to now, and smiling is a hard habit to break
After all the reading, and now a bit of driving, my thoughts so far:
Things To Love (stock): MFSW (must have!); stock CD system sounds JUST FINE! Don't miss the H/K one bit: sports seats- I'm 5'8", perfect for me and my wife; heated seats (looking forward to a really cold morning!); sunroof (looking forward to a really sunny morning!); all the lighting touches- fade on and off, stay on for good measure and convenience, and the gauges at night- WOW!!- especially the ACC bank of lights.
Things Not To Love (stock): ACC function- might stick w/ manual (love the layout, however); sunroof noise- probably can't be helped w/ any sunroof at higher speed; lack of serious cup holder- may not drink in the car, or will need a workable option.
Things To Love (after market): Remus exhaust- the sound is Just Right (can't tell re: performance, as it's dealer installed and I've no OEM system driving time for comparison); drivers side parcel shelf; glove box organizer; Alta stubby antenna; halogen map light.
Plates Ordered At The Dealer: EZ2PRK
Ordered, Still To Come: TVA "Hotpocket" for storage; arm rest w/ storage.
Still To Do: bought just the aero front grills- about $113 for all 3. Will cost about $90 to have them professionally installed and interchangeable so that I can change my smile from black to chrome as the mood suits.
Future Mods To Consider: cold air intake which doesn't mess w/ warranty; chrome/white side turn indicators; tinted tail light kit; top fog/brake lightbulb mod.
Here's to MCO- keeping current and future MINI owners informed and well-adjusted
As you all know so well,
automotively speaking, it just doesn't it get much better than this
