Have you TIVO'd "MINI Cooper"?
 

Anyone else have their TiVO set to record anything MINI?
The first week I did it I came across a show where two guys restored two original MINIs to performance specs and then to see who got to keep them, they went out to the test track and challenged each other to time trials. I think it may have been on the Speed channel or something similar. That was back in April or May sometime. They gave a brief history of the MINI up to and including our beloved New MINIs and then got to work on dismantling the rusty old MINIs and rebuilding with better brakes, suspension stuff, engines, etcetera... Fun to watch!

I saw that a while back. I think MotoringFile might even have had a link to it. Pretty interesting. The Minis ended up on eBay, however...

Has anything else interesting showed up? Have you seen the episode of "Street Tuner Challenge" (Speed) that had a look at MINI enthusiasts? The rest of the show is pretty interesting from a technical standpoint, if you can repress the gag reflex whenever the narrator talks.

I'm not sure if the "MINI Challenge" is the same as what the folks in CA did. But they were on Speed television talking about the MINIs. I have a clip of it you can download it here (39.4m) if you want.
