I recently entered a dealership in the Northeast and inquired about Cooper S - dark silver metallic paint/white roof - premium package and cold weather package = $500 due to the car not being delivered until March 2003 - he indicated the cold weather package may increase this provided me with a total of $21,400.

Previously, to visiting this dealership I established a relationship with another sales person. Should I confront the previous dealership to negotiate a price?

Thanks.

I don't know of a single dealership in the entire USA that is negotiating whatsoever!

The cheapest you could possibly hope for is to pay MSRP for the car. There are several dealerships only charging MSRP, but because of this they are also some with the longest wait lists.

If anyone tells you, you can buy a MINI Cooper S for less than MSRP they are on some sort of drugs...

Thanks for the response. I just thought that I could negotiate down the premium package at the cost of $1,250 or cold weather package $500. Maybe~ take off a few hundred dollars? Sorry~ if I sound cheap but, hey it's worth asking anyone who may know.

Would this be possible?

NO such luck. With the high demand it's MSRP on everything including packages and most likely more than MSRP.

Hey~ Thanks!

Now I need to decide who to purchase my cooper s from? Morristown, NJ or Princeton, NJ? So, undecided -- one sales person was more knowledgeable than the other about the MINI S. The person in Morristown, NJ was the most pleasant but, had less knowledge. I would feel bad to give it to the one that was more arrogant. (princeton) Not too sure what to do?

Can anyone tell me how much the "Mini preparation charges" are? Do they vary by dealership? Any other hidden charges?
