'06 exhaust

While I was configuring an imaginary '06 yesterday I noticed there is an exhaust option. Does the "optional" exhaust add anything to the performance of the MC or is it just for sound effects? If it adds to the performance, will it fit the '05?

Was it the JCW package for the MC? That has a new exhaust in it...

It's under accessories.

Runs $675. It says " A complete exhaust system from the cat back."

It's the MINI Sport Exhaust, and yes it fits the '05 as well.

Does it add anything to the performance?

Or is it just about sound?

When I bought my '05 no one at the dealership or MINI knew if it increased HP at all, so I didn't spend the $675 + dealer install.

Besides it's a little expensive for a cat-back.

Classic MINI hant ever installed one. I see potential for a very rare option a few years down the road!

Dealer installed options usualy become the rarest in the long run!

Expensive cat back

Yes, but if it is a dealer installed option, that would mean no warranty problems. If they don't know if there is a gain in hp though, what's the point?

i posted the same question a few weeks ago..

very little feed back, and probably overpriced like most dealer/manufacturer accessories. i think i have decided on a remus for $399. i wouldn't lose too much sleep over an aftermarket exhaust and warranty issues...
