How to Transfer the Factory Warranty to a Buyer?

Are any steps necessary to transfer the factory warranty to a buyer? I did not see anything in the forums, except that it is transferrable.

Thanks

The original balance of the factory warranty (4 years/50,000 miles whichever comes first), the 3 year/36K mile scheduled maintenance program and the 24/7 roadside assistance are ALL fully transferable to a second owner of the car. All the new buyer has to do, is call MINIUSA, provide the vehicle's serial VIN number and presto! all the information will be updated to reflect the new owner's name, address, mileage, etc.

The warranty transfer is totally and completely free and it takes effect right away. No paper work or transfers of any kind.

I know this info first hand because when I sold my '04 MCS I had to find out about the warranty transfer myself.

Agree, I was the buyer on my used 03 MCS and all I did was call MINI USA -- done. Now when I go into my dealer the car is under my name.
