When has your MINI just made your day???
Today, I was sick as a dog. I sat inside just miserable all day, never got out of bed until about 7pm this evening, when I really needed to get some meds. So, of course, I hopped in my MINI and started it up. I took a small backroad to a not-so local CVS, I hadn't been out all day, what can I say. Anyway, just the shrill thrill of acceleration and handling just brightened up my day, I don't know about any of you out there, but who else has had thier MINI just make thier day??? Tell your story.
I just sit in my garage sometimes after a long day at work and enjoy the view.
on the weekends i take her out as if there was no tomorrow and man
does she handle...
even after 2 years, it still makes me smile
especially when going through turns. unbelievable handling.

I sometimes sneak out to the garage and sit in Eowyn late at night too! Nice to hear I'm not the only one!Lately work has been pretty hectic with 12-14 hr. days. Luckily I work from home. I pretty much try to get out each day to perk myself up, even if its just for 15 minutes. I don't ride her hard yet because I'm in the break-in period, but just cruising to Wal-Mart is a pleasure. (Sorry for the horse reference. I named my car after Eowyn in "The Lord of the Rings" and the horse imagery is hard to get out of my head.)
Interesting topic
I work in a two story black hole with no windows. I'm not kidding, it's two story office complex with limited windows on the 2nd floor where I work. The place is soo dark and depressing at times that I've come to believe that light is not capable of escaping from the center vortex.
To quote Luke Skywalker, "If there is a bright center of the universe, you're on the planet farthest from it.".
Anyway, at the end of every day, I go outside and find that my '05 MCSc HB/B MINI is still sitting on the event horizon of this black hole I call work.
The pleasure of putting the top down with the key as I walk to my MINI is awe inspiring to say the least. A sigh of relief as I start him, rev the engine, pop the clutch and speed away is a sight worth seeing.
I told a fellow employee once, that there will come a day when I'm POed at work. Where I will quietly walk out of the building, do a couple of tight circles in the lot and return to work with a smile. She didn't believe me and thought I was nuts the first time I did it.
Oh, and to make things more frustrating at work, they just repaved the back parking lot which is never used. Can you say, "practice your autoX at lunch?" LOL

I don't remember the specifics, but...
One day a couple of months ago the world was just wrong. I don't recall why, but I was in a blue funk. I went out after dinner and got in the MINI and took a 50 mile drive on some of the rural county roads around here. Just wrung it out whenever I could see far enough ahead to do so. I knew that was the medicine I needed, and it did the trick. Whatever frustration I had from earlier was gone. Just because I had a bit of excitement and fun, maybe a little dose of adrenaline. Ooooh, I love this car....

Every week on a Thursday or Friday when I get back to the airport after flying in and having spent a week in a crumby rental car... just taking I676 onto 295 at speed puts a smile on my face (as long as no one gets in my way!!)...
thar be magic in these wheels
--You guys and gals re-affirm what I felt in my test drive. I just couldn't stop laughing when I was driving the MCSa. Everything about it was fun and I love sound of the supercharger. It's the only kind of whining I love to hear. I'm looking forward to giggling around every corner. My baby arrvies in October/november. Her name is lil'Marie.
Please do tell me more. I'm lovin these stories.

Got mine on Tuesday, have been high on Mini life ever since. I have to walk from one side of our office to the other numerous times durring the day. Prior to Tuesday afternoon I always looked out the front (away from where my old Hyundai Accent was parked) now I look out the back every time. I get to work early so Maximus is parked in the first spot so I can see him very well! Puts a smile on me every time.
Also laugh just thinking about my co-workers who thought three people wouldn't fit, then keep coming over and saying "man that is a very cool car man" after we went to lunch and I drove.

Recently I've really been liking cruising right around dusk. In IL, fall is setting in so it's getting dark at just about the perfect time. So far, every day this week I've found some excuse to get out of the house and motor around.
Last night we ran out of milk because I had to drink the whole gallon so I had an excuse to go drive around. I took the long, roundabout way to the grocery store.

Today
I was sitting in Taco Bell eating today and I was seated at the tables right by the windows facing the parking lot. As I am eating I see a guy pull up in his BRAND NEW H2 and he can't stop staring at my MCS. Pretty funny.
Me thinks he just came from the Gas station. Real world fuel economy of 10.7mpg + 32 gallon gas tank = OUCH.

Dixie makes my day just about anytime I get behind the wheel. I really enjoy it on Fridays. Normally, I am off work at noon time on Fridays. So when I get home, I park in the shade, have some lunch and then give DIxie a bath. Then Friday night when we go out for darts or wine, we (wife and I) are turning heads. It is so nice to have a car that is fun to drive and uncommon enough to turn heads.
