Thank God for that MINI, Boy!"

At my wife's request, repost of a song in another thread, sung to the tune of John Denver's "Thank God I'm a Country Boy!":

"Well, life down in Oxford's kinda laid back
Got our little British buddies buildin' MINIs by the pack
They roll 'em out the door and they ship 'em out the back. . .
Thank God for those MINI boys!

Well they put 'em on a boat and they sail across the sea
They travel round the country and get sold to you and me
Then we get the MINI bug, and the rest is history. . .
Thank God for our MINIs, boy!

(Chorus)
Well I got me a fine car, so what if it's little?
They come in funky colors like a bunch of metal Skittles
How it goes so fast is somethin' of a riddle. . .
Thank God for that MINI, boy!

When I got it Zaino'ed up and it's shinin' in the sun
I crank up the stereo and take it for a run
Rippin' through the twisties, and now we're havin' fun!!
Thank God for that MINI, boy!

We'll I'd motor day and night, every day if I could
But my insurance agent wouldn't take that very good
So I motor when I can, work when I should
Thank God for that MINI, boy!

(Chorus)

Lots of city people drivin' in their EssYouVees
The MINI whips around 'em just a pretty as you please
Its whiptastic handling will bring ya to yer knees
Thank God for that MINI, boy!

Gonna motor in my MINI till the day I die
Then we're gonna motor off to that highway in the sky
And we'll have some weekend races with the Big MINI Guy!!!

Whoo!!

Thank GOD for that MINI, boy!!"

Thank you, no applause, no applause. . .just throw money!!

Thank yew, thank yew verry much! Although there is one minor problem - I've got that stupid song stuck in my head now, and it won't go away!!! At least it's usually the MINI lyrics, though, so that's not quite as bad.

Great job Bill... Okay - I'll admit it on this open forum, I used to be a HUGE John Denver fan - in fact - I still like some of the songs he did... Bill, again, you've made my day - very entertaining...

So which song would we rather have rolling around in our heads - this one or "It's a small world after all"? LOL!!!

OK OK Let's try one from the 60s

Who's drivin' down the streets of the city
waving at every one that he sees
Who's drivin' round the streets of my city
Everyone knows my min-Knee

bump bump bump bump

And MINI has pow'r to spare
It takes me just everywhere
And mini has pow'r to spare
In every turn
(echo) In every turn
In every turn
(echo) In every Turnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Who's drivin' down the streets of the city
faster that any person should go
Who's drivin' round the streets of my city
Everyone knows my min-Knee

With apologies to Terry Kirkman et all

Bravo! And correct for the original MINI's timeframe, too!!

Anyone have any thoughts on other songs that could (and should) be 'Mini-ized'??
