At the Tate breakfast, one of the SA's, I believe his name was Scott, was showing a couple of us a release he has from BMW about the new variants of Mini coming out next year. He said none of the information was public yet, but let us pass it around to take a peek.

My wife wanted a better look at the new solar red, so I went over to http://www.mini.com/com/en/general/homepage/index.jsp and they do indeed have it there.

Rumour time:
According to the website, unless I'm assuming too much, it says only one of the three models will be availble in Solar Red. Each model display says 'you can get this model in xxxx exclusive color', leading me to believe you can only get the new blue, grey, and red, on those models only for 2006.

According to the same SA, those models will not be availible as S's, and that is completely rumour, because I think Mini/BMW would be kneecapping themselves if they did that.

Love the colors...love the silver roof option...especially enamored w/ the Park Lane. Not a fan of the new bonnet stripe, though...that'd be the first thing to go.

Also, I'm quite certain at least one of those models (maybe several) is offered as an MCS. Rumor police???

 

Those new models will not be making it to the US market. However, we will still be able to get bits and pieces of those packages, including the parklane leather seats and the Checkmate upgrade for the MCS.

 

Not surprised. I still feel betrayed by the exclusion of Electric Blue for Coopers in the US. Now it's too late. They lost a sale on that one...but that's okay, I still love the Cooper I have.

 

I like the colors, but if they are exclusive to model-typel, we probably won't see those either, eh?
