Things happen for a reason...I guess

So, my dealership had a 2004 STI with 19k miles on it and I decided to trade my mini (only 6 months old) and go with the STI. Today was the day to pick it up, I had my insurance switched and my downpayment all ready to go. Then right before I go over to the dealership, they call me with the bad news...Last night around 5am somebody broke into the lot and Stole the STI! Just my luck, the day I am going to pick it up. So anyways I guess things happen for a reason and My Mini is staying with me. Not really that bummed cause I love my mini, but its just Crazy!

I would not trade my MCS for a STI straight across.

Hmmm ... how many miles on your MCS? Just wondering why you were thinking of trading it in so quickly...

I had a feeling I would get S@$T for telling this story, but I like the STI and thought I would give it a try, but fate stepped in. I am now looking towards the Helix/Psi-Fi turbokompresser kit

An STi? forget it... I'm glad it got stolen! Hahah you're right we'll of course give you grief... If you were to trade at least trade for somthing compatible... like a Porsche 996tt that actually comes close to the MCS in cornering...

Hmmmmm.....maybe your MINI friends were desperate to save you from a "horrible" fate. Something to think about.

Or if you just gotta have an STI, paint the roof white and slap on some stripes.

Okay - we confess. All of us here at NAM heard you were going to replace your MINI with an STi and we went and took it upon ourselves to prevent this travesty from occurring!

But seriously - I've never liked the looks of the STi, which to me looks like a very ordinary Japanese econobox with a truly ridiculous rear fin. I was shocked when Road & Track - who I respect highly - picked it for the car of the year a few years ago (or was that a reader's choice poll? - whatever - it won some big award from R&T).

Since then, I've seen STi's performing at BMWCCA car control clinics and a HPDE at Laguna Seca, and I must say - that is one hell of a car!

Not at all my cup of tea, but one hell of a car.
