Not really related but my burbling seems more noticeable when the engine's cold. It's more of a crackling then it's a subtle change to burbling. I can do without my burbling/crackling. I'd prefer it not be there, so if there's any software changes available, I'll be the first to help test it.

The burble reminds me too much of a fart can on a ricer.

Nope, logged with and without. The stock programming is doing it to create the burble. I was logging to see if I needed colder plugs, I discovered it by accident.

Good to know. The man with experience (and data) is never at the mercy of the many with a theory.

Anyone know the answer: If I switch my stock exhaust for a JCW exhaust, will I still get the pops and burbles?

Yes. I have an '05 JCW and it pops and burbles plenty. I don't understand the people who have really strong feelings against the "burble". It isn't loud or obtrusive at all. It's mild and subdued...actually sounds nice.

Rawhyde,

So you have the JCW exhaust, not just tuner package, right? I want to be sure if I make the swap, 'cause I totally agree with you - the pops and burbles are wonderful!!! I'd miss them!

I have the whole JCW kit which includes the exhaust system. I doubt that the other JCW components affect the sound of the exhaust except perhaps at full throttle. The sound you're focusing on is created when you let off the gas...it'll be the same as mine. It has been several months since my last test drive in a stock 05 MCS, but as I remember, the JCW equipped 05 has a much more pronounced burble than a stock 05 MCS. Even so, it's not loud or obnoxious. Nothing like a set of "glass pack" mufflers on a V8....

The good thing about the JCW exhaust is that it doesn't drone on the interstate. It has a pleasant sound throughout the RPM range without being annoying.

I think you'll like it.
