As well as being a MINIac, I am also a Macaholic.

Today Apple unveiled some new great new laptops, and their own Apple branded web browser - Safari. I've been away from MCO for a while playing with Safari, and trying to figure out it's quirks.

Here's one - Hey Mark:

For some reason I can't log in as a user via Safari. When I do try to use my username and password I get kicked back to the login screen.

I know you're a busy guy - but this might be something worth looking into. It will make us Mac users feel warm and cozy knowing you're addressing our unique needs!

And NO MAC BASHING from you PC Weenies!!!!!

Long time Mac addict here. I missed the news. I'll look at Safari but am curious to know why they'd jump into the browser fray? And why didn't they call it isafari?

Hey rygold if you post it here you must get bashed....

PC's rules and MACs are boat anchors......

rygold Jan 7, 2003 08:19 PM

I guess you've never seen a "Macquarium". It's not a boat anchor - because Mac People (not "users", but "people") don't junk their old equipment. They build Mac Shrines!

Show me a PC user who cares about their old iron!!!!

(Here we go - I've started just what I wanted to avoid! Next?)

I use a PC out of my inate desire to conform to flocks of sheep of society
but seriously, I use software that isn't available for Mac, but I would love to hook up a PowerBook G4 (extra cash is paying for thy MINI tho, doh!)

My old college roommate is a Mac fanatic... He dragged me into one
of those new Apple stores in the local mall last year. The first thing I
saw was a store clerk booting up one of the demo machines... in Windows
98! I laughed heartily.

My roommate showed me his machine, complete with OS X. He wouldn't
shut up about how great it was, and boasted that it could run Unix. So
I asked him what he did in Unix, and he said that he surfed the web the
other day with Lynx (the text-based browser). Boy, was I impressed!

At my old job I had to cross platform, but now I strictly use Mac....they are MUCH better for design purposes IMHO.

L...
Is that a Big Mac?

Graphic designer...started on a Mac, switched to PC, because most of my customers use PCs and compatibility issues kept popping up...imho, there is no difference in creating graphics on a PC or on a Mac...

"Cos it's like a journey through the desert of browsers I guess. Try Chimera, it's the greatest, but it still won't open PULSE.

What was the question again? If you get the Tartan Red interior, is your engine computer MacIntosh?

MotorinGirl Jan 8, 2003 09:01 AM

Me (writer): iBook, iPod
Husband (designer): Powerbook
Sister (illustrator): Powerbook, 22" flatscreen monitor, iPod

No flak on the Mac, Jack!

I've never used a Mac and never seen Safari (other than on the Screensavers show on TechTV), but your problem sounds familiar. Be sure you allow cookies both per-session and stored types of cookies (these are the terms IE uses for them, they may be different for Safari...)

Ok no bashing but this should be moved to Off-topic....

If we can not bash mac's then do not bash pc's they all do the same work. If you prefer one over the other than that is a choice you make and have to live with it.

It is like purchase a TV or Stereo. Everyone has an opinion and they all stink (if you get my drift).

Let's move this topic.....

 ).

Of course, I bought a new (now semi-obsolete) Airport hub back in November. Doh!
