The MINI On It's Second Boat Ride...

Yesterday was absolutely beautiful outside (first time since October in VT) and we had the top down all day! We even took it for a boat ride!

30 Seconds after I took this picture, water started to spray onto the deck of the boat, so we had to momentarily put the top up (the MINI got a little wet) . But once on dry land again, down it went. I just can't get over how calm the cockpit is at cruising speed! It is no problem having a normal conversation, or listen to music, it is just a wonderful little machine!

I think I can see Champ surfacing in the upper right corner.

Beautiful setting. Beautiful car. But didn't you worry about salt water on your car?

If you live around the shores the air already carries some salt so a little
bit will probably make no difference.

Odd. When I lived in Chicago the one environmental component that did not make itself inconveniently evident (such as a frozen sidewalk when I had to carry a dead car battery 3 blocks) was the salt from Lake Michigan. But I think you're right that it must be in the air and therefore would have to settle onto the finish of cars. Thanks.

We are on Lake Champlain in Vermont... that is a fresh water lake. LOL

I wanted to take a picture of the front of the car but I would have gotten soaked.

Yes you are right, here is the picture again. I think you can just make out Champ somewhere in the upper right. Can you see it?

Yes, salt *is* a big problem in Chicago, but it comes from the streets in Winter, not the lake.
