R50/53 ? What is your favorite option and why ?
What option did you pay for that has turned out to be something you really like and would recommend? If you got the white roof, did you get the white wheels too? oh, and I guess I want the other side of the coin too! so What option did you get that you have not used too often?
I really recommend the cold weather package for those in colder climates. I especially like the heated seats. MMMMMM toasty
I wanted to wait for the the Harmon Kardon sound system, but I have found that the standard system is getting in the way of enjoying the great engine "noise," so I end up turning it off. But the standard sound system is pretty good as long as you don't turn it up too loud.

Love the white roof, even thought I had one guy ask if mine was the cheap edition because it was missing the brit flag. With the brake dust these factory pads put out I'm GLAD that I did not get the white wheels! Black or dark silver wheels would be a better option. My favorite option is the blue leather interior (it's the only cost option I got). It looks great, especially since it comes with matching blue carpet. The 17" tires have better traction from what I hear, but I'm glad I got the 16" X-lites. They are significantly lighter than the 17s.
I have the white roof and opted not to get the white wheels--IMHO, they just didn't look as nice as the silver ones. I love the premium package--leather steering wheel with radio controls, panoramic sunroof are both great!
Also--had to have the cold weather package---up here in New York, those heated seats, washer jets and mirrors really come in handy! Also really happy with the chrome bumper!

Rally Lights - the option I had installed was and will always be my favorite. Won't get in to the cost, other threads cover that, but they literally save my life every day I go to work. With an extra 40 to 50 feet of visibility at 2 to 4 AM when I drive to work on desolate country roads, vision is what I need.
DSC, which came with the Sport Package - I don't care for. First thing I turn off when I get in. I am going to handle the car, not rely on a computer to judge for me. Why would I get A MINI if I wanted a palm pilot?

Wow. That's a really difficult question to answer. Really! So much so, that I'm afraid that I can't give a short answer, so bear with me!
With all that said, I have obviously focused on creature comfort options, but a stripped down MINI, I'm convinced, would be just as fun to own!

>>eventhough its winter time....I LOVE MY SUNROOF!

I totally agree! I used to be a convertible guy but this sunroof is even better. There aren't many opportunities to put the top down in the Northeast and when the top is up the visibility is terrible. Yet even when the sunroof is closed, you have a nice, warm, bright interior (which I like) and great views of the sky and stars which you can't get when a conv. top is up. But most importantly, I open the sunroof most days - even though it's been in the 30's for the past month. It doesn't get too cold and the fresh air is great. Also you can keep the sunroof open in light rain and not get wet - again not something you can do in a convertible. I don't think I'll be trading for a MINI convertible in the future. Especially that the MINI is a hatch and hatches don't look very good in convertibles when the top is up.

three things i wish i would have gotten on Madge:
1. Sports suspension plus..for those bumpy new jersey roads
2. Heated Seats
3. Heated mirrors...until it snowed here a couple of days ago I was unaware of the importance of heated mirrors. There was ice clinging to my mirrors and it was hard to get off.
Question: can these things be installed at anytime on the mini?

Definitely the premium package (incl. sunroof and MFSW) plus sndwave is right: the rally lights are a big plus. I'm still not used to the location of the horn so at night when visibility is at its lowest, if someone cuts me off, they know it. I also have the NAV system and love it. That is an amazingly useful tool to have as well.
When I went to test drive at the dealer I thought I wanted the Sports Package, but after being told, at that time (June '02), certain items in that package would delay delivery I had to weigh waiting longer for delivery or re-think what I really wanted.
In the end, I ordered only Sport Seats, Fog Lights, and the MFSW. I've never missed any of the items in the Sport Package I didn't get and think it looks better without the spoiler. Number one favorite would be the Sport Seats with the MFSW a close second.

Always been a convertible or sun/moon roof lover, so the sun roof is my favorite. My 2 1/2 year grandson loves to ride in the back and be able to look at the sky and stars. The MFSW is a close second.
The MFSW is the best option. I ordered the on-board computer, this is really not
necessary but it's fun to play with while driving. I like to look at the readouts for "MPG" and "miles remaining till empty". Although I was told by the dealer that the last one shouldn't be taken litterally because a customer ran out of gas going by the reading,
that's why there is an idiot light on the fuel gauge.
