Castrol commercial...it's a MINI!
 

I was watching TV this evening, and a commercial for Castrol Super X...something motor oil came on. There's a montage of shots of rotating engine components, pistons, and several shots of a tachometer, foot pedals, and turning the key. The tachometer and key are clearly from a new MINI.

Has anybody else noticed this? Is this already old news? I can't help believe a MINI was chosen for the interior shots because the external location of the tach above the steering wheel probably made it easier to get the right camera shot.

Also, it looks like the tachometer is from a JCW Cooper S, since the redline has been changed to 6950. Anyone else notice this?

Yeh... thats wicked old news...somewhere deep in the archives you'll find a post on the Castrol add...but good try anyway.
They probably use the MINI tach. ,because MINI recommends Castol Syntec in all the cars to date. :grin:
