R50/53 Pics of me and my new MINI!
lets see... marketing job, divaMac... You'd be an apple user of some sort, eh?
funny. i think the number of mac-using mini owners is disproportionately high to the rest of the population. I would say that its because MINI owners are generally smarter, but that would be offensive
. lets leave it with the FACT that MINI owners tend to know good aesthetics
.
Want to learn to speak french? awesome. I spent last year in Paris and it feels like my second home now. If you havent visited, you absolutely must at some point.
btw guys, sure, la voiture est bonne, but thats such a boring description! Oui, elle est bonne, c'est Claire
mais elle est beaucoup plus que ça.

We celebrated our 1 week anniversary by going on a nice drive into the eastern San Diego County desert. Lots of twisties!
I need some practice with the glamour shots...

To Mini-Rolls
Wind deflector:
It makes a BIG difference. Being a female with semi-long hair I can actually wear my hair down while driving with the wind deflector.(Of course you have to have the windows rolled up.) And topless motoring is the way to go!
Please feel free to ask any other questions. As you probably know it will cost you...the guy I bought it from said, "You know that's $475. right?" I said "Yes, but my car is like a child, I can't tell it no!"
I feel some nice wheels coming on, and I like Carol's!

As for the moniker, I was a graphic designer in another life, so I was a Mac user from the 80's. I have been using Divamac since 1994. I thought it might help me get a job back then if someone thought I was the Mac Diva.

Now I work for a software company and have a PC.
And not a day goes by that I don't curse PCs for one reason or another. But let's not start that war!Carol

Hey Carol,
That's a stunning paint scheme. I think you got quite the find. And those roads in SD look so tempting.
Chicago and the WI area shouldn't be bad, but have to wait so long for some nice weather
Being a recent new owner of a MINI, I know what you mean by saying you love her more and more as time goes by.
I studied french in school/college and finally visited Paris last year. I still thought my French wasnt too good and then last weekend in NYC, struck up a conversation with a French couple and they said my accent and conversation abilities were quite good
. So, I must have learned something, hehe.

)...I was annoyed at first for having to show my ID all the time, but now, I don't mind so much
Congrats on your new MINI, and I love the pics.
Dave.
I have have the same "problem" as Carol and Dave. I'll be 37 in a few weeks. When I went to see the last Matrix movie I was carded... for 17!!!! My brother in law, who is seven years younger, was with me and he wasn't carded.
I hope this trend continues into old age.

)...the girl who sold us the tickets couldn't have been more than 16, and she carded me
I just smiled and said "thank you"...and I still don't think she fully realized how old I really was...she just merely glanced at my ID and gave it right back
But hey, like you said, we should be so lucky if it continues years down the road
