There was a product similar to this for the honda/acura market that actually retained factory-length shift-throws. It was very nice because you didn't have to move your hand far from the steering wheel to reach it.

Looked strange, of course.

There's obviously nothing on this link to say what the throw might be like... I'm guessing waaayyy too long to be practical.

I think you're right about don't have to move you hand far from the steering wheel.

I bet 90% of those buttons and switches on the WRX don't do anything. And it's probably a pain to remember which switch does what anyway.

Maybe this product is for the tyrannosaurus rex MINI driver, with his short little arms.

Are you sure that is a shifter? I thought the ring on the back side of the steering wheel was the shifter. That long bar is the rear brake, I believe.

Now see, a T rex would just be lost in that WRX. Way too much going on, and too many tiny little buttons!

I better be sure not to show this thread to Padre. It will make him feel so . . um. . .inadequate. And that makes two of us!

Cheers,

Ditto, on a 1970 Porsche 914/6. Kinda reminded me of shifting in a VW Karmann Ghia!
