I only have about 700 miles on my MINI so far, but I can honestly say it's gotten smoother. The engine idles smoother, she accelerates smoother, and she seems quieter. Now the ride is still rough/stiff like I like it (easy there perverts!) , but the car is smoother. L.MINI was right too, the car heats up very fast, which is important in the Chicagoland area. Usually I'm very good at hearing and feeling different things on my cars, but this is EXTREMELY noticeable. Anyone else find this happen to them?

i have about the same mileage, and i agree it has gotten smoother and even shifting is easier and smoother too. I love my baby.

 

It seems to me that the Tritec 1.6L engine gets bettter and better as miles rack up. You'll notice a substantial improvement in overall response as the car passes the 1,250 mile break-in period threshold.

 

Smoother and looser. It just keeps getting better. I'll be past the break-in period tomorrow. Can't wait to redline this baby!

 

Hey cooper44, I have been driving at the same rate and have the same mileage as you at this point (we picked ous up the same day at Jacobs). I have noticed things getting smoother and gas mileage improving as expected. I have also noticed the exhaust sound changing and getting better. It all just keeps getting better. I love this car. Come on 1,250 mi.!!! :smile:

LTL YELO gets smoother and smoother all the time. The more Baileys the pilot fills up on, the smooooother it gets! WhoooHooo! Just a short one bartender. 6500 miles and it keeps getting smoother..hic!

i'm already planning another trip up to Bill Jacobs to get the oil changed when i hit the 1250 mark. this car amazing. second gear pulls are going to be so much fun! :smile:

I picked mine up two days before you guys, and I'm putting the miles on at about the same rate. I noticed a definite improvement in engine response already at 500 miles, and it just seems to be getting better. But the smoother the enging gets, the harder it is to reign her in at 4500rpm. 1250mi can't come soon enough!

 

my MCS has gotten better and better... i'm glad i haven't experienced any of the problems others have complained about... whew.... [wipes brow]

 

Just like fine wine, a man's face or a woman's wardrobe....it all gets better with age.
