I bummed that the Super 7 can't be raced! At least at this point in the game.
I'm guessing that the reason why some cars can't be raced is because they're open, with a visible driver, and the PS2 can't handle the frame rate of rendering a car with that much detail plus five other cars, track, and background. I've noticed that convertibles run with their tops down for practice but they're up for racing and cars like the Super 7 have no top.

I've had no problem in the arcade single race mode with top down...drove a Z4 and several others. You do have an option of choosing top up or down before the race. I haven't compared the two to see if there is any advantage though.

A Classic MINI is only available in the used car showrooms, so you need to get in there to check once in a while. The car lists are updated randomly, so you can only keep checking to see when it's available to purchase.
