Yes , but with the kit i got it is supposed to turn a lightish green i guess . I did test at tailpipes and it did turn green so i am confident the liquid is working .

Now i need to dicide what my next step will be in order to pinpoint if it is just a missinstall on my part of the oil cooler, before i decide to tear head out for gasket work. By the way the car has just over 200 000 kms so a head gasket may be beneficial at this point .

thinking about this further...what about the possibility of the oil cooler failing internally?

Based on what i read online that's what I had guesstimate was happening so I dis replace the oil cooler and oil cooler gaskets with new ones .

Once I removed the old cooler there was some buildup in one of the coolant entry points .

Could always be the new oil cooler is defective , but I really doubt it .

I have read of some oil coolers failing right after install, think this was on amazon reviews.

Do you know which brand of gaskets you used sealing up the oil cooler? personally had a heck of a time locating them up here in Canada. Ended up using Uro brand which i know will be replaced sooner then later.

If the block is cracked, or head gasket you should be seeing exhaust gases at this point. One can only assume this issue is related to the oil cooler as its the only remaining item which could cause the two fluids to mix!

I ended up ordering from ecs tuning . I ordered the " genuine mini cooler and the genuine mini gaskets and 4 oil cooler torx screws . I did not want to take the chance with a lower end one . I doubt there could be an issue already but I am.starting to wonder .

I dont think i flushed the system properly , but even with some residue left i dont think.it would create rhis.amount of sludge in the overflow tank , but again i am not a mechanic . I have about 1/4" of milkshake on top of the coolant. I already emptied the coolant , removed and cleaned it . Ran the car and again have the same amount sitting on top.of coolant .

I

i spoke to my mini specific mechanic and he suggested running the car for a little since I didnt find any combustion gases in the coolant and car isnt showing signs of misfire. He said it takes long time to get all.oil out of entire system especially if I didnt use any radiator flush chemicals . I didnt want to use the commercial cleaners due to being afraid it may spring a leak on the radiator , but now I wish I had just ran a bottle anyways for a short amount of time .
To be honest I am still seeing some oil residue on top of coolant in tank, but fingers crossed it seems to be less than the other time . I have ran it a couple of times and then emptied/ cleaned the coolant tank 2 times . I hope its just residue in the system . Still aiming to do another flush with the system when I have time and hopefully that cleans it up .
