The wheel sensors arnt that old and I've wired together the brakepad sensors and they've been that way fir years without issue so I can't imagine it's those.
buuuuuuut upon installing my tvs I seen on drivers side my axle boot was torn and it had slung grease ALL OVER everything , including the sensor. So do you think that the grease wrecked the sensor or its detecting a torn boot some how ???
also i took off my 5mm spacers and installed 10mm spacers , could the wheel offset be causing the issue ????
The lights are on immediately upon starting up the car and even unhooking the battery or resetting ecu has no effect. It also has NO codes present...
my guess is the wheel speed sensor , how about you ??
I saw you mention this on your main thread for this build and because the computer is calculating the wheel rpm's to alert the driver, I'd say it's the new spacers. Mainly that scrub radius that you're changing with the combined wheel offset + spacers is enough to change the ECU's wheel spin expectations. If the lights don't go away after 15-20 miles (give the ECU some time to recalibrate normal settings), I'd say drop back to the 5mil spacers and see if that does the trick. Then at least you'll know it's just the ECU freaking out for no reason. Also, if there was a tremendous amount of axle grease on one wheel, it could have potentially slowed down its rotation just enough to make the computer think you had a slow leak and maybe contaminated your inner rotor surface just enough to make it perform like you had a worn out rotor.
I never thought about the tone ring or rotor getting contaminated.... I DO have 4x new sensors and new axle on the way because axle needs fixing anyways and imo its easier to replace it as a whole instead just the outer boot..
I also know to usually use oem sensors too but I just replaced all 4x on my other r53 and they thxfully worked so I just ordered those ones again just encase it didn't even need them.
unfortunately I don't have 5mm spacers any longer because I'd given them to another mini guy who installed coilovers and had rubbing issues and NEEDED them..but I can fit the rims without spacers too I believeeeeeeee but I will check..
I will definitely clean the rotor and area...
had the same trifecta of lights and it was a bad steering angle sensor; bought a new one and coded to the car , no more lights...
did it throw a code ???? I can't imagine it's my angle sensor because I had a torn axle boot and the lights came on immediately after...
ANYWAYS , new axle is in and completely cleaned up the area and the tone ring , NO CHANGE. Lights are on still immediately upon start up..
I test drove it too 20min about 20miles and tried using the tpms reset button too.
new sensors will be here in a day or two.
tomorrow I'm going to remove the 10mm spacers and see if there is any change.. if not , onto sensors.. grrrr i just did hubs in my other mini few months back.
I also replaced the lower balljoint that was junk and it completely stopped the little bit of steering wheel wobble I had so atleast I got a win with that.
I found I have a bad rear passenger hub BUT I installed new sensors , cleaned all the tone rings very well , tried reset procedure and driving it awhile. 0 change what so ever...
now , wouldn't a bad hub only cause the lights to come on after being reset after 50-100ft of driving after it detects the bad hub ??? Still no codes ect..im soooooooo frustrated !
I'm going to order new rear hubs abd if that does t fix it , I give up for the season and will take care of it come spring...
anything else i shoukd be looking for or might be over looking ?

Did you have a lot of play in the bad rear hub ? I replaced both front hubs ( BCA) and new sensors ( waste of $ )and still showed the trifecta of lights , then finally SAS cured the issue but, that was on my Mini …

no play BUT the bearing was very grgrindy and didn't turn freely..
Soooooo after new hubs all 3x lights arnt on immediately anymore BUT after driving awhile instead of resetting and turning off the brake light illuminates and once I restart the car it then has a cel on for p0500 so I HAD to have gotten junk sensors and I will try new sensors next and pray , PRAY that fits the issue..
any other ideas guys ?? I replaced map sensors , vacuum checked it ect and I haven't found anything yet of concern other than the brake light coming on so it's not a trifecta it's a quad light , well 5x with the cel once it's on..lol
FIXED !!!
idk how but one of the front sensors , though it had the front wiring to fit on the coil ect it had the REAR sensor on the end so that was causing all the extra issues after the new axle and hubs.. lol idk how I didn't notice it but it definitely was a rear sensor because I compared them all..
So once I replaced that with the correct sensor and inspected the other 3x I reset everything with inpa then i went for a drive and ALL the brake lights turned off with in 50ft.
