Any idea how to undo this connector? (on antenna signal booster part)

Hello,

first time poster here. I'm trying to switch trunk lids on my '04 R50 and so I've started by trying to remove all the wiring from my trunk lid. All has been smooth until I met this connector (see pics below).

There is an arrow on the black connector closer to the device and I've tried pushing that part towards the device and I can hear clicking but nothing seems to release. I've tried pushing it that direction and also twisting it counterclockwise and can sometimes hear a click but no apparent release. I think I see the word "Roka" on the black connector and I've tried researching it but nothing useful so far. I'd rather not cut the wire but I'm considering it.

I welcome any suggestions.

I want to disconnect at the black connector.

Having the same issue. Did you find out the correct method to remove the plug?

No, I decided to manually pull out the black wire from what seem to be a clamped housing structure/connection. My hope is that if I need to re-install in the future, I can re-insert it and re-clamp or try to solder it in some way. If you find out the correct way or try something that allows a simple disconnect/reconnect then I hope you post it here.

Will do. After viewing the antenna disconnecting switch part online it appears to have two clips (small silver protrusions on both sides) holding the plug in place but, like you, I cannot figure out how to release the clips. I've contacted Outmotoring and Pelican Parts for advice on how to remove the plug. I'll let you know if they respond. On another note, how difficult was it to fish the cables back through your replacement hatch?

Unfortunately, neither Mini parts supplier could help. It seems to be a universal mystery. Still searching.

Looks like maybe one of these and also these. Probably depress the metal tabs?

Thanks for the reply. It is a Roka fitting but those tabs are not really tabs. I've pressed, turned, pulled, called it ugly words and spit on it with absolutely no success. There is NO information online that I can find. I even contacted both Outmotoring and Pelican Parts and neither could help. No one on this forum seems to have ever replaced their hatch. I never use my radio other than playing music through it with a Bluetooth device but I really don't want to cut this cable. The wiring loom will not remove with this plug connected. By the way, the OEM box it plugs into (photos in the first post in this stream) is called an "antenna connecting switch."

To answer the first question (or for @cooper48 ) ...
I posted a page w/pic from the Bentley in the R50-R53 'Stock Problems' discussion forum.
Hope it helps.

Awesome find and fix. Those are like quick connects in the system, the part numbers on those parts are usually the first XXXXXXX-02 the -02 is the revision or rev level. Some supplier show the whole 11 digits and some will just shows the last couple. When you see the -02, 01, 03 etc on the end you cut and paste that short number into our site or realoem and you can get the full part number which you can then punch into search here or google. Quick way to find things.
