So I'm flipping channels
 

and I hit some channel with a show on called Speed. They are talking about hybrids and they are interviewing Wendie Malich (some in Just Shoot Me ) never heard of it, but anyways she was like I'm waiting for my Hybrid Lexus but right now I'm loving my new Mini Cooper. She said she didn't know driving a car could be so fun. She had an S model from what they showed. Wonder how many famous people own Mini's?

Whoopi, Madonna, The Osbournes, Gilette Penn (of Penn & Teller, who came to our Meet & Greet at a park at last year's Vegas Meet)....are a few that come to mind.:thumbsup:

The old guy from 60min that dose his thought of the day at the end of the show (Steave Hartman?). He did a take on the Smart cars and had to show that in was smaller than his Cooper.

The channel is called Speed... not the show. I watch it pretty much any time I'm home.

The show was about the LA Auto show.

NASCAR's Ryan Newman (Penske racing team #12 car in Nextel Cup) bought one from the MINI North Scottsdale dealership. The dealership happens to be own by Rodger Penske. Coincidence? I think not.

He didn't directly say it, but I would guess yes since he showed one in the video:

Neil Gaiman (author, comic book guy, director, screen writer, other things too)
has an all black Cooper or some sort (not sure if it's an S or not)

An article about Adam Carolla (of The Man Show) in the November 2004 issue of Grassroots Motorsports says he has an MCS as "his daily driver", and "he's already started to hotrod it". Judging from the article, he sounds like a knowledgeable car guy with good taste. He also has BRE Datsun 510 and a 1972 Porsche 911T done up like an RS.

Adam Carolla is a "knowledgeable car guy" because he owns some 70s vintage sports cars and a new Cooper S? I have a highly-modded S and some 70s vintage sports cars? Can I be a "knowledgeable car guy" too? Or do I have to be an obnoxious TV personality too?

I saw an issue of a car mag (I think it was Automobile) and it had an article about the 50 most influencial people in the car industry (CEO's, Presidents of car companies and other like Bryan France, Bernie Eccelstone and such).

Anyway! It stated that Roger Penske and Dale Ernhart Junior also have Mini Coppers. It did'nt state if they owned MC's or MCS's but I'm guessing that these guys opted for the WORKS.

Jr's is a DS/B MCS, I think a 2002. Nice color!:thumbsup:

I saw George Lopez picking up his Pure Silver MCS at Mini of Mt View..

Kevin Spacey appeared on one of the late night talk shows (maybe 2 years ago -- I can't remember) and said he had one of the first MINIs and absolutely raved about it.
