Located in Bergen County, New Jersey and my uncle who gave me my r53 brought the mini before he gave it to me to Helix in Philly for just some preventative maintenance. I have a couple upgrades done to the mini under my hands and I was wondering if Helix is a good shop to bring the mini for tuning? Have you guys done a tune there? Are they good? How much do they cost? How does it work?

 

A friend of mine has bought some of their parts and is satisfied with them. Don't think he had work done there though.

 

Not sure how they are currently, but they were one of the original performance shops/vendors here on NAM and highly regarded. I think they distributed some RMW stuff and had tune days with Jan so they might know something about tuning a car with your head and cam.

 

Had major maintenance done on my 05 S this past June ( clutch, flywheel, super charge maintenance, a arm bushing replacement, new water pump, new thermostat and housing and on and on and on) and had the work quoted out with Detroit Tuned, Helix and a previous mechanic for both places. Chose the "previous mechanic" because the price from both of these places where stunningly high with Helix leading the charge. I can't speak of their quality since I have not had work done there but be prepared to be charged up the ying yang.
