R50/53 Coilover question
Coilover question
Hi all
I have a cheap set of partial threaded coilovers that I bought and have been sat in the shed, after hitting a pothole last week i was forced to install these as i cant afford new shocks. The car drives really nice and tight but having a slight issue.
when slow over something like gravel stone there's a bit of pinging sound from the front.
-They are currently on mhat i think is max hight as I don't want to go to low
-New top mounts on the front for thus install
-everything is tight as it should be.
Is there a way of knowing where max hight is, because if I keep winding the perch up it will unscrew off the top of the thread? Not sure if i have esentially got to max hight and then started squashing the spring, although it still looks ok, and i think its a consitant spring rather then progressive. There's no preload setting on these shocks as the hight is adjusted by the perch.
Any ideas? :D
