Electric waterpump options.. I'm running a sprintex and Davies wp'S SUX
So I'm on my 2nd Davies electric waterpump now and this one TOO IS LEAKING. It's leaking from the same spot my other one started to, along the shaft in the middle it will dribble a tiny tiny puddle after a heat cycle and the car cools down.
I took my other pump that leaked in the same spot as my current one and disassembled it and there's NO internal gaskets or Orings WHAT SO EVER. So of course it's gonna leak after awhile as it's plastic and warps from heat after awhile. So I lined the inside where the shaft goes in its retainer and then I gobbed it all around it too. I also went over the entire seam of the 2x casings also just for good measure..
is there an all metal pump out there available??? I was looking at the body and one looks like it's the sane exact physical design but it flows alot more fluid and I don't want to over pressurize the system or something. I DID buy a mishimoto radiator and have 95% of the coolant hoses upgraded to new silicone hoses and better clamps so the extra flow might not be an issue but chime in..
any input is always a help.... I gotta address this leaking pump befor I can put my car on the track again..
Is it the DC-8005? Because that's the one I have on my car, but didn't get to run it much since the car need some head work.
on the box ,it's the ewp 80.. its a pure plastic pump. Even the impellers are thin plastic. Thing is the biggest pos I've ever seen. What a terrible terrible design. How on earth do they think plastic press fitment wouldn't leak if there's NO SEALS ANYWHERE ..geez
