Yes but R52 shocks won’t fit unless you get the way motor conversion adapter ($30).

You can also use R56 brakes, but you’ll need r56 e brake cables.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say he got them from Wilwood.

The powder coating is gorgeous, btw.

yes, they are the Wilwood rear brake kit. Nice kit that allows you to retain the e-brake.
here’s the front if interested

I second the purchase from Way. I did the same and everything was pretty simple. Don't forget the power flex bushes for the front pivot. For nicer looks you may want to purchase new control arm and lower shock mount bolts. I ceracoated everything, added new hubs, new control arms and new brakes. I hate having old bolts having out back there.

if you mean the hubs that the wheel mount on, then the only difference is the lug bolt size. If your R53 was produced before about 8/06 then you have 12mm lug bolts and the R56 are 14mm.

i swapped both the rear abs front hubs to R56 because I wanted the 14mm for added security on track days.

Hey guys question. I just did the conversion. Only issue I am having is the rear wheel speed sensor error. Do I use my original sensors or the R56. I did use the R56 sensor.

You have to use R56 sensors. They are different than R53 sensors.

your problem could be the wiring on the car side. It could be brittle or corroded.

I did a little further reading on this. There have been issues using the R56 sensors. They switched back to the R53 sensors an fixed the issue. Will swap around tomorrow.

That is odd. I remember them being different lengths and I believe different diameters.

I had a ABS issue right after my conversation and had to order a new R56 rear sensor because it would fit an R53. My issue turned out to be an ABS module in the end.

Is the R56 wheel sensor you used was new or used?

I installed used trailing arms and then installed a new one during troubleshooting.

Rockauto has them different part numbers.

I simply reused the R53 sensors. They are smaller diameter than the R56, so you need a short piece of tubing or hose as an adapter to support the sensor centered in its bore. I believe I used a piece of PEX water tubing, cut to maybe 1" lengths, with the same attaching bolts.
They have been working fine for five years now.

I just swapped out the sensors to my original ones. Works perfect.

Awesome.

Do you happen to remember what size PEX tubing?

I'm going to be doing this soonish and it'd be great to have these "adapters" already on hand, thanks.

I believe it was 3/8" ID, 1/2" OD (bought a foot from Home Depot). So... if that's correct, the bore it fits in is probably 13mm (.511"). I trimmed the PEX length to match the bore length, smeared a dab of silicone in the bore and outside of PEX (to resist its vibrating out towards the spinning hub), slid the old sensor inside and screwed in the single bolt.
Nothing critical here, you're just trying to support the sensor a bit so its not "dangling in the breeze" with a single point of (vibrating) attachment.
