I wanna turbo swap , those who have plz chime in
As you may be aware in my prior posts , I'm just not happy with the power of our r53 engine..mines at the point where only high dollar stuff like a stroker kit is an option as I've done most I can do bolt on wise..
I'm already running a sprintex to it's max and at 19lb of boost I'm still far from satisfied with the power of the car..
Am I correct in assuming since a turbo will be going over 20psi I will need a different ecu ? If so what are my options and what did you use ?
I also don't have the option of being able to fab my own parts so where can I buy a turbo manifold and down pipe ect ?
I found this kit and I know I could upgrade the turbo and stuff if I needed more boost but what are your opinions on this kit ?

I've had my fun with v8s already ..lol
I actually might be trading my other 04 mini for a 2010 sho police package...
Instead of ls , I'd sooooooo much rather kswap my Grey mini. I'd even give who ever did the work my entire engine ect and buy the k series engine and stuff for him to do it...just sucks there Noone by me with the expertise because it could be a 2x way Hella beneficial deal.. the person gets my built engine n stuff for their car and I finally would get my kswap to begin building.. gowd, a Jackson racing supercharger on it or a twins twinscroll turbo...ugh wants and wishs

I’ll trade you my clubby s for yours. Man you seriously have put a lot of time and effort into that thing. I would try to work on tuning and really get her dialed in. Drag race is fun to a point, but carving corners is way more enjoyable and when you are pushing other sports cars out of the way, it makes my smile bigger.

My $0.02... You're losing efficiency with the high supercharger speeds, and your intake is getting too hot. Have you considered a front mount intercooler package? (I thought there was one recently listed in the marketplace) What are you running for differential? Is it still the OEM open diff, or have you upgraded to an LSD? An LSD will help put the power down, even in a straight line. I also agree with Jason, work on getting the power down in the corners and chase down some much more expensive machines.

Have you switched to the MS5150 ECU, or does your year model already have it? The 5150 is much more tunable.

I wish there was more info out there on the 5150 - or just tritec tuning in general.

I'm talking with Adrian but it's slow going..idk if somehow I pissed him off but he's been very short with me and not even answering my specific questions I been asking about my tune n stuff...I'm kinda in a pickle
dude , if it was a r56 I woulda... I been contemplating paying off the 1500$ title loan on my Grey cooper and actually trying to trade it for a jcw r56.. I totally agree r53 are for carving and i don't do that much I'm a strait line runner so an r56 would better suit me being that the turbo will make bigger power.. idc that the r56 is bigger or heavier cuz it will be good enough handling for me.. my r53 my god,God, thing feels like it would be a track star with the suspension and handling mods I've put on it and it screams through 1st gear into 2nd but just doesn't pull hard as I want after that..

Don’t be knocking the clubby, not only can she handle her own, the extra space actually makes it functional😉 Anywho maybe a public apology to Adrian and a realization that you can’t come on a forum a blast your tuner and expect them to be willing to help. Smooth that relationship out, and get her dialed in. Nik seems to have a pretty good relationship with Lou, and who will be tuning mine. I’m sure they had a few bumps but have worked it out and there was no forum shamming. Some of the other guys might have choose to do some shady stuff or are very difficult to reach, and Adrian seems to be one of the stand up guys for you R53 owner’s.
I have far far too much money into the engine and car as a whole really to keep throwing and just trying tunes in.. eventually it's going to cause catastrophic damage by frying a piston ring , a valve or washing out a cylinder..an engine can experience massive damage from just wrong fueling and that's EXACTLY what's wrong with my tune on my car. I feel like the things I'm telling him my car is doing wrong he's just ignoring and thinking the issues are on my end such as a vacuum leak or bad sensor.. I've smoke tested my car 10x and have a boost gauge and all proper gaging.. I've also gone and spent MAD amount of money alone replacing every single sensor on the engine with new factory/ oem brand sensors to make sure no crappy off brand sensors were the cause of my lack of power.
but anyways we're off topic...
LET'S SEE THEM TURBO SWAPS GUYS! chime in plz because I'm wanting more and more to do this

I'm curious to see the fitment, it's not as compact as mine, and is really like to see the overall engine compartment layout.
