what the 'F' kinda ignition wires are these ..........?

Sooooooooo I'm constantly looking for every little bit of hp I can get out my car now that it's pretty much fully modded and while reading I came across these.. they are highly debated but I found the ONLY time they didn't add any benefits and actually hurt performance was on cars where they had to actually completely remove they're coil on plugs and use these as they are AND THEY WORKED though not as efficiently but still worked with NO COIL so that does prove they're ability to hold and discharge for spark ? I would think so..there's people that swear by them and other that swear at them and I'm highly considering trying them. If they work even as good as my current wires cool then my other mini can have the wires from this car and then I'm upgrading both my cars by buying these.
and then on engines setup like ours i actually found individuals who posted befor and after proven dyno gains with these AND they were using brand new stock ignition components, not old worn out ones either. On the dyno graphs I seen as much as a 14hp gain and other were like between 5-10..IF I can get 1hp gain I'd be happy because then I know they're firing my ignition spark as hot and as effective as it possibly can.. minimani and few other vendors had stocked these for awhile even and I would get them from a decent vendor also. I already have the best coil besides running coil on plug which is a screaming demon , stock coil Max's at like 35000 volts and the SD is a 40000 so it is more powerful. I'm also running quadtip range colder silver brisk sparkplugs too.. my current wires are 10.2mm dragonfire wires ( had the largest core wire and biggest insulation available and are spiral too ).. and don't gimme that that stock ignition stuff is best bs , I've done ALOT of research in this are and found proven better stuff ( may not last as long but I don't care , I go for power as it's not a dailydriver )

(Mini)Man, those are spendy!

Same UK-sourced ignition wires the prior owner of mine spec'd early in 2006, which can be seen here in my (sig) thread topic. No opinion of them, other than they look kinda cool...

Those have been around for a loooong time, and don't do anything worthwhile. Get stock replacement NGK wires, and call it a day.

yes , yes they are BUT if I get like I said , any gain from them I consider them worth it.. here's just one of the MANY positive results I've found ... again, I keep finding only problems people had was trying to replace coil on plug with these, which obviously would be an issue but on simple coilpack and wire ignitions like ours there's proof of gains.

They were the thing back in the day. Lots of engine bay bling for the R53 days where people dumped tons of money into modded R53s

We have some 8mm wire options. But you already have 10mm.

I mean, it's electricity; and it has to move like what, a foot? What is the resistance in the stock wires compared to the fancy wires? If there is a lot less resistance in the fancy wires, get them. But you already have 10mm wires, find some 20mm wires and you might be on to something; that is as long as the 20mm are made from the same quality of materials as the 10mm otherwise you just have bigger wires that carry the same load.

I find them to be utterly useless and a waste of money.

Only one way to really know,
try 'em out!

I remember back in the 90's they were big on advertising in all the import tuner mags and the Honda bros really seemed to dig them, but I was sort of a euro snob and didn't buy any.

Was convinced on the hype with Splitfire plugs though and bought a set for my 1986 Saab 900 Turbo and they were horribly worse than stock.

I believe Way has done an exhaustive HP gain testing on Coil and wires and found miniscule to zero HP gain. Stock wires for me. =0)

Reminds me of all the talk about plasma boosters I used too see on this forum. Some people swore by it, others called it snake oil.

true true , if they are crap I just send them back then..
When I had my modified lt4 camaro I used those e3 plugs and the car LOVED them.
I could see these wires and other performance ignition products adding no extra hp on a stock engine BUT on a modified engine that's ingesting much more fuel and air IF you can open up the gapping on your plugs and run a larger hotter spark your able to obtain a much more efficient fuel burn so of course a stock engine wouldn't benefit from it buuuuut what about a modified engine ? You feel me ?

was it a stock or modified engine ? And minor boltons imo don't count as modified.

I installed the wires and the car is actually much more peppy and pulls harder but it could be from my terminals being clean or the fact that it's 50゚ today and last time I drove the car it was in the mid 60s..there's FOR SURE no negative effects , other than in my wallet .lol
