YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I picked it up yesterday and I am SO impressed. I've been reading the message boards forever and you'd think my expectations would be exceedingly high. But the car blew them away. I LOVE IT! I am on a roadtrip back from the dealer with a digital camera and a laptop so I have a ton of pictures.

My car has the factory rack and the white tail lights, as well as every option. The rack has certain speeds at which it whistles at (high pitch whistle) but goes away when I change speeds. I'll look at what makes the whistle when I get home. The sunroof is lovely, but at the speeds I'm going its way too loud if its open, but its great if you just use it popped up (two modes it opens in) at 75+ mph.

My NEW game, since I'm breaking in the car on my 2300 mile journey, is reducing rpms in gears 4,5,6 to where I'm going 55, then I blast past everyone at 90 when I find a hill. Zooming past everyone up hills is a blast! This car has tons of power -- I test drove a Mustang GT and a Firebird WS6 before buying my MCS. I couldn't IMAGINE having the power without the handling the cooper has. Taking 30MPh curving ramps at 60mph is incredible.

The Xenon headlights are everything I hoped theyd be. I can see them autoleveling sometimes which is cute. The headlight washers spritz nicely and keep my headlights clean.

The car makes me giddy with happiness if you can't tell. I just can't believe how great this thing is!!!! Oh, and the Harmon kardon system is incredible. I brought some CDs along and there were bass tracks I'd never heard before on some of them. I usually listen to CD's with high quality headphones and yet the HK really reproduces the ranges quite well!

Ok enough of my blabbing, here's my pictures. I have my camera with me so if you'd like pics of anything specific, let me know.

Fooo,

Great look, we all understand your excitement, it never stops. Noticed your radar detector. I bought a Passport 7500 today and had it hard-wired to the fuse box as the ignition is turned on. Mounted just left of the rear view mirror, out of the way but still in sight. Cost me $15.00 at a local auto radio install store, worht every penny.

rygold - that was just where I picked it up. I'm currently in a hotel in Ohio on my way back to Colorado with my MCS.

SMKKVK - I've heard of some excellent stealth installations with front and rear detectors. Yours sounds like a good way to do it without spending $1000. I need a better detector before I go that far - it's an older one I'm basically using just for this trip. BUT it's worked great. I never knew that Road hazard signs broadcasted radar to warn you (making me think they are cops too). I'm breaking in my engine so between going from 4,5,6 gear and varying the RPMs I go anywhere from 60 to 95 (well I went a bit over 100 for a second or two) so I'm glad it helps in finding out whether a particular clear passage on the freeway is "safe".

Just an update in an effort to keep posts and views on our beloved Feb Club thread ever increasing.

I took delivery of my EBlue MCS (white top), all packages, all options (really, almost everything) on Feb 28. Last day of the month. Drove it for 2 days, then had to take a business trip to Seattle for the week. So, have just over 1k miles on the car.

I LOVE IT.

I consider it broken in now, so am ready to explore 2nd gear wheel spin and other "fun" experiments. The club was great, the last 5 days of my wait were the worst. Noe, just motoring.

Kohu'ula - I didn't even THINK about it till you mentioned it but yes, nored reflactors and MY do they look grand!

By the way - for anyone wanting more details on these white tail lights the coolest thing for me is that they resemble opals! You know how if you look at an opal it has all these interesting colors inside? Blues, reds, all sparkling? Well for some reason the white taillights look just like that - they are AMAZING in the sunlight!!!

I just finished with my trip and found out I DO have a problem with my MCS - my gear shift freezes when it's too cold out -- I have to wait 5 minutes for it to defrost before I can shift, ack! Luckily it's not so cold back at home so I can wait to go see the dealer.

But all in all my trip was amazing. I totalled about 2300 miles -- the car is all broken in and I'm lovin the car. I averaged about 1 question from a stranger per stop which was too funny. I'm used to have nondescript cars that don't garner much attention (Taurus SHO, Grandprix GTP, etc).

Posting three cheesey pics from my trip, please forgive me.

Size doesn't matter, it's how you use it.

My Cooper is deer to my heart. Or... even the local fauna fawned over the MINI.

No funny caption, just an open road and 1199 miles on the odometer.

Best MINI pic I've ever seen. Even blows away the ones with an MCO MINI beside a Hummer!

Great shot. I'm borrowing it for the amazing photo gallery at the Wolfe Island Canada MINI Meet!

Fooo, as the Founder of this Club I wanted to welcome you to the graduates! Sweet looking mini. That rocket shot was a once in a life time picture. This is why I keep a camera in my car at all times now .

Welcome and motor on!

hahah thanks. I have a full res one if you ever need it. (2048Xsomething I forget. Whatever 3.2MP is on a camera).

Huzzah to cheesey pictures!

I just got my windows tinted (and car wazed). Here's Mini V2. I think the tint works GREAT with the black top. Carries the black all the way down to the blue.

You gotta lose the Buffalo plate thing. Nobody will every believe a car that CLEAN and SHINY comes from Buffalo anyway. Too much snow and sludge on the streets!

Can I send you one from here?

Fooo,
Did "towne" ask if OK to stick that label on the back of your MCS, or did they just do it?
Lovely color by the way
Although I still think I made the right choice, painting the skirt trim on mine.

I actually requested they not put a Towne sticker or a front license plate holder but that apparently got lost in the long distance relationship. I'm ok with both though since A> It's a legal thing to have a front license plate in my state. B> The Towne sticker actually makes the rear logos symetrical (spelling bad!) and C> I love the car so much little things like that just seem silly.

But yah as soon as I get my new plates here in Colorado I'll switchout the plateholder with something more fun. Hoping I can find something cool MINI wise in Chrome to match the car. I'll look at yours rygold.

Iancull - I love the painted skirts as well and am thinking of doing that later on down the road. My only thing right now is that it balances the black roof a bit, although it'd need to be a bit more black to really do that, that and the fact that it may catch a few dings from careless people.

BTW, I've been having dreams about the sound the car makes during acceleration, it's just too cool! Of course it probably from driving 2300 miles in 2.5 days but still.....

You could consider painting the trim gloss black to exactly match the roof?

Stopped by the dealer today trying to get a glimpse of MINIhune, but she's locked up in a cage in a vacant lot a block away from the dealer. AARRRGGHH!!!

BTW, mini-rolls, now I know what you went through with all the waiting, except for the sinking part

Congrats Kohu'ulaMINI,

You'll have your baby before you know it - and you won't remember life without the MINI.

Let us know as soon as you get it!

I love my Felix (which means "Fortunate Traveler&quot!
