For those of you on the Tai Shan, looks like our MINIs have made it to Charleston. The WW site says that the ship has sailed from Charleston. Woo hoo!!! They're off the boat, hopefully....


Update: They are off the boat. Called ASKMINI - couldn't hold out any longer. They told me that my MINI should be finished at the VPC on 2-10 and should arrive at the dealer on 2-14!! I'm not holding my breath... but that would be very cool!

ASKMINI told me yesterday that the EDD on MINIUSA website in the OL is posted once and not updated. So if you missed your date like me, you'll flying without instrumentation.

The February Club is a standard for posts and views..

Here it is the 7th of the month and we are at 1006 posts and over 16,000 views. At this rate we will be over 1500 posts by the end of the month and since we have had over 7000 view in the post two weeks we should be close to 25,000 views or more by the end of the month.

The March Club has their work cut out for them. Do you think they can beat us....

I made my first call to ASK MINI today and Amanda told me the same thing as kgladstone. My MINI was offloaded today is scheduled to be at the VPC on the 10th, but I didn't have the courage to ask for a dealer date. She commented that my car had moved along very quickly. I placed the order on 12/16 and it started down the assembly line on 1/10, a little over three weeks later. The MINI gods must have smiled on me!

Amanda was surprised to hear about MCO and how many members there are. I told her that she and her co-workers were almost famous among the members here and we hang on their every word and tidbit of information. Next time you call in, be sure to let them know how much we all appreciate their efforts to keep us informed.

I picked it up in near blizzard conditions. Let’s just say the performance run flats leave a bit to be desired in the snow, but the traction control is very effective. :smile: The folks at Mini of Peabody were delightful.

In any case, Ill have some pics soon. She’s a beauty! And wow, that HK system rocks..

A quote from my wife " I can drive it to work every day right?" hehe

And I just bought her a new 9-3 about 6 months ago!

ASK MINI reports Feb-Ex is just across the street from VDC. Once again I ask, is the listed 'Estimated Delivery Date' on the OL site for dealer or delivery to VDC???

Personally the estimated delivery date in the owners lounge is meaningless - mine still says 1/31/2003, and the car is only just into VPC a week later than that date! My real dealer date will likely be around 2/12.

Mine had estimated delivery of 2/8. The dealer received it yesterday (6th). They need to put a rack on it, but then I won't have time to pick it up until the 14th. Valentine's day present.

Thank you, iancull and MiniCD. I know,... I must control myself! It's simply a matter of time until my dealer calls and says the FebEx is in and ready for motoring. It's only a matter of time to drive from my home to the dealer. It's only a metter of time to complete all the paperwork. It's only a matter of time to learn evcery gadget on the MINI. Then, and only then, will I be enlightened with true MOTORING!

MINI landed in NYC/Bayonne on 2/5 and is sitting on the dock. Called ASK-MINI yesterday and they indicated that it could be "awhile" before it went to the VPC. Called my dealer to see if he had any more info and he indicated that it could be around 2 more weeks before the car hits Buffalo (NYC to Buffalo - 2 weeks!!????). I wonder if MINI is having serious trouble with the NYC dock? I still see the occassional post about long waits from the group that sailed in on the CARMEN. Hope my MINI doesn't follow that trend or I'll be putting her picture on the side of a milk carton... :???:

 

With the hightened security alert in the US, I wonder what type of impact that is going to have with vessel searches, customs searches, etc. It might add days or weeks to the expeced delivery of the cars.

 

Mine sailed on the Carmen and arrived in Charleston, SC on 2/3... supposed to arrive in Dallas this Monday, 2/10.

Well Our cooper is at the dealership. stoped in yesterday to look at it, but it won't be ready until Sunday. One strange thing though the it has a black top and came with white racing stripes. how wierd. The dealership will be replacing the stripes with the proper color before we pick it up. it was the first to arrive here in hawaii with the H/K system. sounds good but I want to play with it some more. Cant wait to motor on sunday.
