I did call ASKMINI and confirmed a status number of 150, ready for production. Anticipate no change until week of 1/13/03 when the action starts.

Well, that's three MINIs with VINs and a firm production date of Friday 1/17. Let's keep count on the number of MCO members with the 1/17 date:

3) digitalpussi

Awesome, I called askMINI and confirmed as well that I am at status #150 too :smile:
It was nice to see that the miniusa site was updated. My MINI started production on the 20th which is nice since I was born on the 25th of december myself, even though my MINI will be born after my b-day I tink it is cute that it is the process of being made around my b-day.

I have a 1/10 production date and was excited to see that they apparently updated all of us (1/10 and 1/17 production dates)! I'm so excited to have a VIN! We're one step closer to getting our babies!

Good news for Club Feb:

I called AskMINI today, and although I have an estimated production date of 1/10/03, I went Status 152 (Paint Shop)on the 23rd! Two weeks ahead of schedule is a fine Christmas Gift indeed!

My production date was changed on the Owner's Lounge to 1/10/03 (bumped up from 1/17/03), the same as reported by the folks at ASKMINI. However, I am still at 150 as of this afternoon.

They must be pulling them in color groups or something. Actually, I had been wondering if an unpopular color like Velvet Red would end up pushing me back so they could wait for enough orders, but I might have been rounding out a group instead of starting one. I'm not sure if they actually work that way or not, Anyone know for sure if they paint in color groups or have all 16 or so colors ready-loaded?

 

I read in a tech-review somewhere about the MINI factory that they paint the cars in small batches. Their technology allows rapid colour changeovers.

So - don't worry - you'll be done in no time!

Does it show the status code on the website, or do you have to call askMINI? I too have a 1/10 production date, have a VIN number, but I see nothing in the way of status code. Just wondering of I need to make a phone call!

Yes, you have to contact "askMINI" either by email or phone to get detailed status- the website only gives "major transitions" apparently. They do respond promptly- can anyone tell me how often they've harassed them for info???

I'll call ASKMINI everyday (M-F) for my fix. Have to bear it on the weekends. Hope my production date of 1/17/03 gets bumped-up too.

I see some members have "advanced" to status #152 while I'm still stuck at #150, maybe my MINIhune's taking awhile getting her make-up on (see my sig.)

The anticipation is killing me..errr I keep checking the MINIusa site even though I know that there wont be any progress since my estimated production date is 1/17/03 I called askMINI and I was told production will be completed on the 17th so I suppose no hopes in being bumped up:( BTW what is everyone in the Feb group getting in regards to color , options, MC, or MCS?

I too have a 1/10 production date. Mine will be Pepper White though. Not sure how many of these are flying off the line though. Hope this doesn't slow my delivery down. Having some trouble getting onto miniusa.com at the moment to check.

Well, I was told by the dealer to expect in February. My car was built on 12/12/02. So, maybe I should be in the "Can't Wait for January Club" instead. Although, it almost went down with the Tricolor... It's "over the water" right now. Should be in CA 1/11/03. Then, I'll cross my fingers it gets through VPC quickly.
