I'm still stuck at my first step, "ORDER" with an estimated date of 1-17-03. Hope my production gets determined soon.

I found out logging in four times a day into the owners lounge doesn't make it move faster. Hoping somebody is on the other side watching my intense interest so they'll give a production number soon.

First prod date was 1/25/02 (I wrote in on the year mistake). Then went to 1/18/02. Now at 1/24/03. At last visit to dealer, she says sometime in February. Just gotta wait-n-see!

Try calling AskMini at 866-275-6464. I just phoned and spoke to Sam and Jen there (I called twice because I could not believe the first rep). Even though I, too, have a 1/17/03 production date, they said I am at status 150, which means production has already started (according to both reps) and should be done in the next two weeks. They did differ on when I could expect it to arrive in Chicago.

Both AskMini reps were extrememly nice. When I asked for the next time I should check back in with AskMini, Jen said on Monday. I would imagine they have a million anxious pending Mini owners pestering them, but they still invite you to call back soon. Too cool!

Oh yeah. Both reps said my Mini should be done by 1/10/02, a week earlier than the Owner's Lounge reports.

Had a scare, though- I forgot to order chrome bumpers, want them, called the dealer, and they at first said too late- no chance. To ease the wait, I just went for another test drive, and then bought a $65 1:18 scale die-cast silver w/ black top model MINI at the dealership. Doors, bonnet, and hatch all open, and it comes complete w/ real carpeting and steerable wheels. I'll just have to play w/ it until the real thing arrives!

fms Aloha, and welcome to our MINI support group. I have 5 MINI die cast models to help hold me over until the "real" MINI gets here. Like many others in the Feb. club, production date moved back a day to 1/10. I hope I'm in this club and not in the "Can't Wait For March Club" MCO has helped ease the wait...Mahalo!! I just ordered my Mini Cooper S yesterday. Fortunately, I was able to get in on a car that is to go into production in January and be delivered in late February! I'm so excited to get my Mini! Getting one was a total surprise. I've wanted one since they first were introduced in the States, but my husband was against it (I didn't need a new car). However, last week he told me that the Mini is my Christmas present! I'm so excited! I ordered a dark silver with the white top and white mirrors. Premium package with black leather seats and fog lamps. Cannot wait to motor in March!

Where do I find the #? Is that in the owners lounge somewhere or does my dealer have this?

 

I would try 1-800-ASKMINI as apparently they are more real-time than the owners lounge. You'll need your order number as reference to get the status number. Later as the car hits production, the VIN number is used.

I'll be calling Monday to get my status. (I'm on vacation Monday; so I guess I can say "Can't Wait Until Monday&quot

It's Monday am but too early to call ASKMINI, so I checked the owners lounge. I'm in production with a VIN number, it's really happening. Will still check with ASKMINI today to determine number status, I'd guess 112.

Kitkat...Aloha! Welcome aboard. Looks like you lucked out and will be getting a MINI in a shorter time frame than some of us. Others have waited for 6 mos. or more. MCO will help curb your MINI wait. Shaka!

 

I got an e-mail from my Motoring Advisor yesterday saying he had 3 S's and 2 Coopers available IMMEDIATELY for purchase.... If I wasn't 1,500 miles away, it would have been a very difficult decision for me...
The part that got me was when he wrote "you can have your MINI for Christmas." Do I take one that might not be exactly what I want, or do I wait the next 2 months for the Cooper I spec'ed??? Needless to say, the distance made my decision quite easy!
The more I think about the more I'm glad I wasn't home to succumb to the temptation! :smile:

 

Well, I guess I am now in the February group. My MINI was born on 12/6/02, sent to the port on 9th and booked on the TRICOLOR for a 14th sailing. Well the TRICOLOR sank prior to picking up the cars the 14th and I was wait listed on the Terrier, did not make that one either. I was then wait listed on the TAKAMINE to leave on the 21st. I went from waitlisted to booked on the 20th, finally my MINI will make the ship. I then watched the cargo tracking site on Friday and Saturday. They loaded over 600 MINI's with about 60 being waitlisted, but wait my MINI never showed loaded. They even loaded MINI's the got to the dock on the 21st, but my MINI still sits. I am now waitlisted once again on the HERCULES LEADER leaving on the 29th. I am calling my Sales Manager, MINIUSA, and the shipping line to find out how this can happen. So now I am in the February club hoping not to move to the MARCH Club. I ordered my MINI back in JULY.
