I'm in Phoenix. So I guess that means west coast. I remember my sales person saying something about the car shipped to a western port. So I wonder if that makes much of a difference. Panama canal, maybe?

That is correct. My MINI's journey started in South hampton on 11/21, across the atlantic to Georgia, down the gulf and through the canal (happening as I type this) and then it will go up the Pacific to Port Hueneme and is supposed to land on or about 12/16. I then hear that it's about another week before it's loaded on the truck and sent to the dealer.

"Stealth Mini" Dk S/B 3pkgs.+Nav+HK will be born week 50/2002 and delivered 4-6 weeks later...Does that qualify me for the February club? I'm thinking that will be the case...I ordered in June 2002 waiting until Sept. for the HK which got moved to Dec. Is It really coming at last? I have the number, but haven't checked owners' lounge...Will do....

For those of you on the west coast, you might be able to get a glimpse of your MINI going through the Panama Canal. It's probably a long shot, but you've got to do something to keep busy until it's MOTORIN' TIME!

I am in. Estimated production date of 1/11. No wait, that changed to 1/18. Heck, changed again to 1/25. If it changes much more, I may have to start the "I can't wait for March club".
From what I've read, its pretty standard for the estimated proddy dates to move around?

I, like a lot of you, have a 1/11 production date! Maybe we'll all be on the same boat together! What East Coast port does the ship dock in??? I think I remember seeing New Jersey or something...

MMMMMMMM.....I thought that I would be in the Feb Club but I have been getting disturbing news from my dealer lately.
I was told my Mini S was to go into production this month and delivered in mid to late Feb 03. Now my dealer is telling me that BMW AG may not be able to ship the car to me here in Korea!
I ordered my Mini thru Kolon Motors BMW Military Sales in Oct...only after the dealer told me that the car was available thru military sales here in Korea. (the car is not yet being made available thru Korean BMW). I gave the dealer a BIG deposit and he processed my order and got an order confirmation from BMW AG. I made arrangements thru my bank for an auto loan that was approved that day too.
I have sent 3 emails to BMW AG military sales department and also to Mini Int asking what the deal is on this. So far all I have received for the past 2 weeks is emails from both stating that the questions I have had been forwarded to the appropriate department.
My dealer is also avoiding my emails and phone calls. All he says is that it is up to BMW AG if I will get the car. My dealer was either miss-led from BMW Military Sales on the availability and delivery of the car to Korea.....or he just decided to place th order without all the facts and hope for the best....and to get a commission if the car was to be delivered.
I told my dealer to give an answer this week...yes..or...no on the production and delivery. If I do not get an answer I will cancel my order and get my deposit back.
If there are any of you out there that can give me some good contacts at BMW AG or BMW Int I would appreciate it a lot. I want to get to the bottom of this issue ASAP.

I just got my production number and it says that my estimated production date is 1/11/02 :smile: hopefully everything will go smoothly *crosses fingers*

Looks like we will benefit from already having our production numbers. Seems that BMW is cutting *back* the number of mini's produced per year. Guess they needed to make some more room in the factory for the Guiness Drinking Garden!

Aloha! "MINIhune" also has an estimated production date of 1/11/03 but supposed to arrive in Hawaii in April! Say it isn't so! Was hoping for Feb. arrival but since the rock I live on surrounded by a big pond is the furthest state from Oxford. Oh well, I guess some more patiences and time at MCO.

I think you will make the Feb cut off without too much difficulty. And did anyone else notice that our (well at least my order) has moved from "On Order" to "Scheduled for Production"? Ah progress. What this means exactly I am not 100% sure but it sures seems cool.
Also got my BRG Mini Cooper Hot Wheel car today for on top of my desk ($0.59 at Target!). More than once I have found myself Vhrooming around the desktop. Damn, I need this car in the worst way.
PS: Anyone in the Killington, VT area for Christmas week? If so, I will be the semi-intoxicated guy at the Wobbly Barn at night talking about the Mini's. Feel free to buy me a drink!

I’ve been checking out the owners lounge everyday, final saw an update (actually a correction) today. My estimated production changed from the erroneous 1/18/02 to "1/17/03". Somebody is on the other side and paying attention. I'll keep checking everyday to relief this MINI Madness I've caught.

My production date changed from 1/25/02 to 1/24/03. Looks like they are doing some updating...

My Production date was 12/13/2002 and my car is now status number 193 and is
on its way to the port of exit. My dealer (Roadshow MINI in the Memphis area) said a month ago that it would be a February delivery, but I am going to check back with him today to see if January is more likely. I am hoping that I will change myself to the "Can't wait for January" club.

Otto, looks like they keep the date for a Friday. Friday 1/18/02 and Friday 1/17/03. Same with mine. I wonder if the production date means the day that the car rolls off the end of the line or if it is the date the car begins assembly...

From what I understand from reading previous posts (and scoping out the other "Can't Wait For..." clubs, the production date is the date your MINI rolls off the line. And I think it starts assembly 5 or 6 days before that...
