Just got my R&T in the mail. The MCS now holds the fastest speed for the 700' Slalmon of 69.5 mph! It beats the Porsche 911 GT2 @ 68.7mph and Corvette Z06 @67.5mph. Not bad! :smile:

 

Do they list the spec of the Cooper S? I'm wondering if this was without DSC and if it had the 16" or 17" tires.

Great news though.

 

The MCS had the 17" wheels and the DSC. They did turn it off for the acceleration runs (talked about spinning the tires), but did not mention it for the slalmon.

 

Say no more, my copy should be waiting for mewhen I get home tomorrow

Grr...R&T suspended my subscription when I moved, even though I updated my address with them twice! Looks like I'll have to pick this up on the newsstand.

hmmmmm.....just read the 700' slalom for the new Z which was 70.2 stock and 71.2 for modified wheels and tires.......kind of like the BCS Football Poll, not sure how reliable any of the car mag tests really are....they want to sell magazines and whatever gets the most attention will be on the cover....I'm assuming all the data is legit and no conflict of interests anywhere...lol! But my MCS is close to the new Z which is pretty impressive till they hit the straightaway...the only thing not close to the Z is these damn sport seats they put in the MCS...lol!
