Window Regulator Replacement - What is the Blue Disk For?
I am replacing the passenger side window regulator on my 2005 MINI Cooper S, but there is a blue disk that confuses me. On the original regulator’s front rail (the one with the motor), there is a blue plastic disk on front rail’s carriage (the traveler that lifts the window). See photo below.
However, there is no blue disk on the replacement regulator, which is (supposedly) an OEM unit. The very detailed instructions on PelicanParts.com do not mention moving the disk from the original to the new regulator.
I replaced the driver’s side a couple years ago, but don’t remember any blue disk. I looked at several YouTube videos, but could not find any that show this side of the regulator, so no luck there.
QUESTION: Does anyone know anything about this disk? Should I move it from the original regulator to the new regulator? The new regulator (also see pic) has no such part.
