Gasket for antenna base?

The vehicle in question is a 2005 MINI Cooper S hatchback.

We just had 48 hours of heavy, steady rain and I have a leak inside my car. The water is dripping from the alarm module cover but I suspect the antenna is the culprit. I can't seem to find a replacement gasket for the antenna. Can anyone point me to one or am I looking at buying a new antenna?

It doesn't seem to me that the antenna is a location where water would pool and drip in. Check for gaps or looseness in the base. Does your car have a sunroof?

In any case, the gasket isn't available separately. The part # for the antenna base depends on whether you have Nav: https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...diagId=65_1507. If it is the issue, personally I would just use silicone sealant.

The car does have a sunroof. I will be poking around tomorrow to see what I can figure out; I just thought I'd try to get an idea of the cost of potential repairs.

my kid’s car had the same problem with water leaking down through the antenna cover. We used some RTV and smeared some around the bottom of the antenna base and tightened back down the antenna. So far so good after 2 good rainy seasons here in Nor Cal.

I concur with the other suggestions, although I went a step further. I took the headliner down (partially) and removed the antenna base, ran a large bead of black caulk around the base and put it back on and tightened it down. I did have a bit of caulk to clean up but being a black roof, black caulk is easy to clean and hide. Since doing that, no further leaks.

Two areas to check are the rear drain tubes for the sunroof and the third brake light housing. I had a leak from the antenna base and the third brake light. Caulk everywhere! You won't see it and going to excess is better than shorting it.

Thanks for all of the input. We've got more heavy rain on the way, so I am going to have to address it tomorrow.

Check drain tubes:

Gasket for antenna base is part of the antenna base.
