Looking for a checkered hood stripe

Wondering if this checkered hood stripe was a factory option or is this aftermarket? If anyone has any idea of where to find one I'd love to know.

This looks like aftermarket to me. The OEM stripes have a different cut to them, and I've not seen the Cooper S logo in that style from MINI.
Are you looking to replace them with the same ones?

I'd love to find the same ones.. I have the original window sticker and see a $300 hood stripe charge so wondering if this style was an option.

There might have been other stripes on there when new, I can't find any like these anywhere.
Todd from White Roof Radio might know for sure! Or get you set up with some custom ones. http://www.toddsmods.com/blog/

That looks custom. A good vinyl shop with a competent designer could recreate something like that. Back in the day I used to operate a digital print business and we did stuff like that a lot.

Most or atleast some of the dealers have a local shop do some of their vinyl work. In turn there are some "custom" graphics on MINIs that aren't truely from the MINI factory yet came on the car from the dealer... This might be what you have here. Call the dealer and see if they will tell you who they use...

interesting to know, thanks for this information!

Is that cracking actually the vinyl cracking or is that simulated by printing? Judging by the edges of the black I'm guessing that its real.

I like that design because it has the classic mini look and symmetry with the strips on each side along with the asymmetry of the logo for that retro sport car look.

Post here if you find that design somewhere or have someone recreate it for you.

Do you have any more pictures? Maybe from a little further away and to off to one side.

Also, My headlights looked yellowed like yours until I refinished them with a sand and polish kit. They came out looking much clearer, almost like new. It only took a few hours.

Another shot.
Yes the vinyl is cracked. I like the design too and am tempted to have it recreated by a vinyl shop.
Thanks for the tip on polishing the headlights it's is on my to do list and reassuring to know they come out looking better.
