What option am I missing here.....

I have had this '04 R53 for over a couple years now.... I just noticed these two plastic covers on my e-brake tunnel cover today when I was cleaning out the car

What switch or switches went here for the car? This R53 has almost every option on it that I can think of except for the navigation system or the Chrono pack.....

Just curious about these two little plastic covers

While my '05 R52 isn't the same, I'm wondering if those are for the heated seat switches?

My heated seat switches are in the shifter console with the power mirror adjustment switch.....

I would have thought heated seat switches also, but the covers are oblong, and I couldn't get them off with my fingers

I suspect they provide access to adjusters for the parking brake.

I may try to take those oblong covers off and take a peek inside. The e-brake cables on my '06 R52 connect to a triangle piece at the very rear of the console. The single adjusting nut is right under the e-brake handle.....Stay tuned for further developments

Was laying in bed thinking about this last night. Thought maybe they were access points to attach the e-brake console, nope, there's nothing under there

Cover for the Parking Distance Control (PDC) switch if your MINI is so equipped.

Both oblong holes in the console??

My '04 R53 does not have the PDC system, so I guess that's why I just have the covers there.

My '06 R52 has the PDC system......but no switches for it.....at least none that I can find anyway...the back up beeper comes on automatically when something is close to the rear of the car

I was kind of hoping that it was for the optional ejector seat system

The bottom button is the "Rocket Thrust" button.

I made them from a convertible top down button that has a picture with the top up and to the right with the top down. A different model year had them angled.
