Looking to tune my car

so I have an 02’ Mini Cooper s and I’ve been wanting to get a tune for a while now. Currently I do t have a lot of performance mods, just a 15% pulley and header with a catback exhaust. But I am looking at adding some mods but I don’t wanna cause damage without doing a tune. I wanna get some oversized injectors, a cold air intake, detroit tuned bypass valve, meth injection, and a few other things. Only problem I have is there isn’t really anywhere in my location that does tuning. And I really wanna keep it below roughly 500. I was reading up about the shark injector and I saw it said you could customize the tune? Or is this false? Is there any auto tuner type devices you can get??

Jan at Revolution Motor Works can send you a tune over the web. You have to buy/rent the Tuner. This is what I did. Remember it is "long distance tuning" but Jan knows his stuff and will stay with you until everything works. On the injectors, attached is a recent post I made that will allow you to come up with some injector sizes. I am Post # 10.

To warrant a tune IMO you would need a Cam and larger injectors.

I would do the QuickTune but I don’t love the idea of removing my computer and shipping it out, I daily my car and don’t have the downtime to await its return unfortunately.

that injector calculator you posted was pretty cool, I was checking it out and I think I’d probably do the 380cc injectors. And I have been really considering the Jan tune, it’s just a big investment for me, and I wanna know if it’s be worth it if I did a cold air intake, those 380cc injectors, the 15% pulley, my m2 performance header, and invidia N1 exhaust. Maybe way in the future I’d consider doing a cam. But atm I don’t think I’m gonna do that.

I would go with larger injectors. The 380's will be at their limit with those mods and a tune. If you are even thinking of doing more down the road you'll need more than the 380. For the tune itself I recommend going with RMW. Contact Jan and he can guide you in the right path. A tune will help bring the mods you have together and make the car a real joy to drive

Depends on how far you might go with mods in the future. The 450's will cover most mods. The 550's mean you only have to buy injectors once. They can be scaled down to the rate you need depending on current mods. Again Jan at RMW can point you in the right direction.

I think I’m gonna go with the 450s probably just because I don’t think I’m gonna have enough mods to really need that much. And I assume the 450s are cheaper. Any idea where I can get a set of 450s for the mini? Or what brand etc etc.
