Hi all,
I have had issue with a 2004 mini base model, automatic, overheating. I have changed the water pump, changed the thermostat, fill with fluid and all seemed good. I let the car warm up and noticed the temp gauge was showing hot again. I looked under the car and could see radiator fluid leaking from somewhere. I jacked up the car, took out the battery and air filter so I could see better...there it was...the leak. I looked closer and could see the place where the leak was coming from had a crack in the middle where two plastic pieces join, in fact, it was completely broken. These pieces are attached to short hoses and carry radiator fluid...from where and to where I don't know. attached pic. I don't know what to call these pieces to know how to order. Thanks everyone! |
I don't know what it is or where it goes, but it looks like it should be H-shaped with an air bleed screw on one side.
It's probably part of the heater system. I think you could replace it with 2 bits of ordinary copper tubing & 4 hose clamps until you can find the correct part. It might take a while to get all the air out, though. |
Yes, I think it is part of the heater system (hose) now that I think about where it's located.

Okay. I found the part. It is a 4 way heater hose connector 'pipe'. I was searching for radiator or coolant hose connector and decided to search for heater hose connector.
Thanks everyone. |
